Default How to transform MP04 optimus

how the hell do you get his legs to push up in.

ive pressed the fuel tanks in, but the leg will not budge.
i was pushing almost to the point of either breaking it or throwing it across the room.

The fuel tank is mounted on a swivel. You need to push in the lower half, the part that sticks out from the leg more. That should release the lock that keeps the leg extended so you can push it in.

You barely have to put any pressure at all.
Just sit there for a while, pushing the leg (gently, it's all it takes) while pressing the fuel tank. Eventually, it will go in. It just takes a while to get the pressure and force right.

The tab inside could be broken, which appears to have occured on two previous occassions reported here - a couple months ago, and last year.
Otherwise, it could be an oversized tab, preventing it from being pressed in.

Perhaps open up the leg and have a look inside (if you feel game enough to disassemble your Masterpiece figure).

I remember I was stuck on this for ages when I first got MP Prime. Think I was just applying pressure on the wrong part of the barrel (from vague memory it is the bottom half of the barrel that you need to squeeze). Of course, as Griff has said this may be a different issue, but I think I was stuck for about half an hour until I worked it out.
