    Default Knocked Off

Ages Three and Up have been reported to have been asked by Hasbro to remove all their Knock Off offerings. I imagine the end is nigh for other online stores like BBTS! Yay.

Let's see if they can get ebay under control now, save me a lot of time looking through all the knock-offs trying to find a genuine TF.

yeah, about damn time. Here's hoping they can go after the source - Justitoys, and put a stop to the flood of KOs. (the online store listed above was just a retailer, not the source). Then again, Hasbro may not have any jurisdiction over the source, only over the domestic dealers in Nth America (like the one listed above).

Here's hoping Hasbro starts targetting those fan forums that are promoting and encouraging these KOs. They might not be the source, or creating demand, but they are generating a 10-fold increase in the demand through the hype and support of KOs. That demand has created the need for more KOs, and how many new fans shopping on ebay are being ripped off because they are buying what they thought was legitimate nostalgic product?
I wouldn't be surprised if this action by Hasbro was due to a growing number of parents or kids have been contacting Hasbro Customer Service with complaints of quality issues or requesting replacements for what they didn't realise were KOs. As opposed to them losing any money from illegal reproductions (which they wouldn't be if they are not even available legitimately anymore).
At least we can be proud to be the one fan forum in the world that actually discourages the promotion of KOs (you can still buy whatever you want privately though).

Have you seen the new newsletter?

...the reason this request came through is because someone ‘told’ on us to Hasbro or complained that we are carrying this product. Because we have never been secretive about what this product is, we were a very easy target for Hasbro instead of doing a whole lot of research in who is selling these figures.... A3U will continue .... to bring news and info regarding these figures as it unfolds to keep the public informed to these unauthorized figures.
"Someone 'told' on us"?? They know that selling the toys is wrong but don't want to take the blame for selling them.

Honestly what did they expect, I know they aren't the people manufacturing the KO's but if people never bought and sold the KO's then you would find that they would eventually dry up as it would be costing the copier money instead of making it.
