This would make an excellent display piece. I hope its the final version and not a prototype.

I would really love one of these. Is at all likely that Hasbro would do one similar to this?

If you currently pre-order a case of 4 from the Japanese Toy Wholesaler, plus EMS shipping, these come to approxiamately $95-$100 each by my calculations. If there is an interest for these from Brisbane members, I will consider been a part of it. I would initiate the pre order myself, but I have already placed orders for other transformers from online shops and ebay, and I am not keen on overloading myself.

in this pic the front of the truck could still be chrome though (it gets folded underneath the two feet in bot mode).

Looks like chrome to me, and I also, prefer the metalic paint on the rest of the figure.

I'm not convinced the front is chrome just yet - look at his left hand in robot mode, it's just as bright as the front of the truck - probably just the effects of the lighting.

did anyone else, notice that the "steps" are not painted..?

I saw that image before, i think it's just pointing out that there is still no silver paint covering ALL of the steps.
