I took a major break due to my car accident around Christmas last year and then returning to study this year. My expenditure on buying transformers probably went from using around 60-70% of my my total revenue down to around 10-20%.

Collecting for the sake of collecting is certainly not going to re-ignite the passion. Why not take a break and enjoy other interests and pursuits? That way you're saving money and when the new Universe/Henkei lines come out after ROTF, you might get back into it.

I remember going off video games for a while, so I unplugged for quite some time and it made it more fun when I got back into it because I was interested again.

I can relate somewhat. While I'm still into TFs, I don't feel as excited for them as I did last year. I think it's mainly to do with RotF, since that was one big thing rather than an ongoing series. It didn't help that it was one big mediocre thing, and that it's basically going to dominate every piece of news until Universe 3.0 or whatever new series shows up.

Try collecting something else in the meantime, or just save money.
