I tried playing it like Sky Shadow mentioned by bidding early with a generous maximum bid on two items - To see how it goes as an experiment.

A couple of hours later some guy came in and kept bidding to figure out my maximum bid and it stopped at $1 above my bid :/

Now I am aiming for the bin prices since its not that far different from the current bids.

Something tells me that if I had left it alone and not offered my Maximum early, the auctions would have been left static as it has been for the last couple of days and I would of had a greater chance at winning the items at a much lower price since the guy would of not have enough time to figure out my maximum bid in the last 15 seconds.

It had been a long time since I bidded without sniping and as far as my Ebay experience is concerned, sniping seems like the more optimal way of winning an auction.

F***ing customs left my latest package out in the F***ing rain and now the F***ing contents are all water damaged.
Now what the F*** am I supposed to do? Wait for the seller to contact the USPS to get the insurance?
Cause I certainly can't afford to waste money on the same things twice.

OMG I KNOW your pain!!! >_<!!!! Only Mine was caused by Poster idiocy.. $100's and $100's worth of Zoid and Transformer kits with barely salvageable boxes soem where so badly sodden they litterally fell apart. And frikkign limited kits too not replaceable easilly any more. ARGH.. it does make you so F***ING mad!!

Are you SURE it was customs?? Not something on the sellers end? Like the moronic person who sent me my stuff carried it to the post office in the RAIN, and Left it at the post office in the RAIN... it was drowned before it even got to customs here.... Hopefully you have all the best luck with the insurance though. I would be straight on the sellers Case!

Well I know it wasn't the seller as they sent me two packages at the same time and day.
The tracking even shows it, both accepted into the USPS system same day and time (well, 2 minutes apart).
First package was fine. A little manhandled, but not wet at all and contents fine.
So either customs or someone in one of the 2 countrys post systems are at fault, I'm sure.
I should have known something was wrong when the tracking for the wet one didn't show it entering Australia until 4 days after the first one.
(Not sure how that works considering they were posted at the same time -_-; )

ARRRRRRRGH! Another batshit insane SA law passed.

SOUTH Australia has become one of the few states in the world to censor the internet under laws created by Attorney-General Michael Atkinson.

The new law, which came into force on January 6, requires internet bloggers, and anyone making a comment on next month's state election, to publish their real name and postcode when commenting on the poll.

The law will affect anyone posting a comment on an election story on The Advertiser's AdelaideNow website, as well as other news sites such as The Punch, the ABC's The Drum and Fairfax newspapers' National Times site.

It also appears to apply to election comment made on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

The law, which was pushed through last year as part of a raft of amendments to the Electoral Act and supported by the Liberal Party, also requires media organisations to keep a person's real name and full address on file for six months, and they face fines of $5000 if they do not hand over this information to the Electoral Commissioner.

The Right to Know Coalition, made up of Australia's major media outlets including News Limited, publisher of The Advertiser , has called the new laws "draconian".

"This is one of the most troubling erosions of the right to free speech in Australia for many years," Right to Know spokeswoman Creina Chapman said.

Dude, that sux. Sux so bad because I can imagine that other states will try to put that in place. That is just a really dumb law. Freedom of speech is going to fly right out the window next. (Wonder if it will get as bad as V for Vendetta...)

WoW! That sounds as if we are living in Stalinist Russia or China!

So if you want to make any political comment you need to give your full details or face prosecution? Why is that? so they can add you the 'list' of people who are not politically convenient?
