All true, though the original release of the Constructicons was no less common than Ultramagnus, so I think they would realise there is a decent market.

The Glacier bot combiner that we've seen in pics will be a risky propsition in itself, as it's not directly related to Transformers like the other upgrades are. I would think they would want to test the waters more before they release something that ambitious.

There is always the possibility the next release might end up being a Devestator upgrade that is less ambitous than Crossfire.

It's a new gestalt concept made by FansProject (not based on any G1 character) but still inspired by the G1 Scramble City combiner concept .

My theory (and hope) is that it's for Classics/Energon Devastator. However, I don't expect something as ambitious as changing the amount of bots. I expect something similar to the Bruticus kit... 2 new limbs, a new head, plus accessories.

But then again, FP specialize in exceeding expectations.

its hard to say what x-fire 3 could be, but with x-fire 1 being superion upgrade, and x-fire 2 being bruticus upgrade, it does leaves one to assume that it could be an up grade for energon/classic devastator, which im sure fp could pull something off to give that mould a little more g1. and as lord-zed said, classics magnus was just as rare as classics devy, so who knows

Personally, I don't see UM being as rare as Devy. I at least saw UM in the stores, just didn't buy him when I did

That's my thought too but the trick is what do you do with it? It can't be as complex as a custom as you still need it streamlined and priced right for it to work.

The only way that I see this happening is if they completely dispose of the center bot. Then they could add two new figures that combine into the torso. However that is still rather lame given the clones limbs so they would have to be heavily upgraded or add at least two extra bots making them 4 new figures in total.

If it reaches a point in which 4 new bots make up the upgrade, then they may as well create a scratch built combiner as that would produce a better toy since they don't have to compensate for the flaws of the base figure.

As Lord_Zed said, it is possible that they could just produce a Crossfire 1 (Superion) type upgrade which just upgrades the figure by giving it a new head, hands and feet but that would feel rather short, specially after Bruticus. However I am still thinking that Crossfire 3 is the Glacier bot set.

Devy was rarer in Australia (since it was never sold here IIRC) but in the States it wasn't. I regret not buying one of the six I saw in Wal-Mart back in 2007
