Exclamation G1 Reissue Ultra Magnus & Metroplex (MISB Only)

    Hey All,

Back again with more reissues I'm chasing of G1 toys I had as a kid.

After Ultra Magnus & Metroplex this time - only seeking MISB.

So let me know if any of you guys have either one to offload for a decent price, otherwise I'll end up ordering them from RK and/or eBay.

Lol... yeah, just rekindling some of my childhood.

I received UM as a Xmas pressie from my aunt when I was 7 or 8.

And Dad got me Metroplex as a b'day gift when I was around the same age - still remember him taking me shopping for it ($59 from Big W Campsie if memory serves me)

Will you be keeping them sealed?

Think Encore version of Metroplex from RK is a good bet.

    For UM:

Preliminary search- Damn!! I was looking for one of these a year back- couldn't even find one for a reasonable price...I think they are pretty scarce but I'm no expert though. If I had the cash I would consider this... but spent too much this month already...

Hmm I just noticed it is MIB Opened, but contents untouched?

Yeah I'm hanging off on clicking the mouse and ordering the Encore one from RK - it's quite a good deal.

Yep, seen that one, I only want MISB, so will probably opt for the Hasbro Commemorative Re-issue (seen a few for about $90 shipped).

Just hoping someone locally has them and wants to offload them cheaply, but otherwise looks like I'll end up ordering them from o/s

HMmm... I highly advise AGAINST the Hasbro Reissue. I got it because I was impatient... it is so crap.
    -Long missiles... are just bad.
    -Shortened smokestacks...
-The cab silver lining has stickers (that peel and are bad quality) on instead of being painted. (Not sure how the Takara reissue v. compares here)

I know you are not going to open it.. but these factors make the hasbro version undesirable IMO- although the box looks ok. I would hunt a bit more first- if you can find that Takara reissue- but sealed.

I saw both of these at hobbybase on the weekend.

Ultra Magnus Hasbro Commerative series reissue ($399HKD = $51)
    Metroplex -$599HKD = $76

I am travelling for the next few weeks so may not be able to get them, but HD maybe able to (or iceburn)...

Yeah the long missiles look kinda crap, but I quite like the box art of the Hasbro reissue plus I won't be opening it anyway, so I think it displays relatively well MISB.

Hahaha... yeah not a fan of the flap crease, otherwise that would be a winner (j/ks)

Ooh... that's cheap! Hmm, don't really wanna trouble any of you guys in HK to buy them and post them to me... but will PM HD & see if he can help me out.

    Thanks for the info UM.

I agree with gdmetro, the Hasbro reissue is incredibly disappointing. And even as a MISB display, I think the Japanese reissue looks better as the box is more G1-accurate.

    Piccies:
    Original G1 Hasbro Ultra Magnus
    Original G1 Takara Ultra Magnus
    Takara reissue Ultra Magnus
    Hasbro reissue Ultra Magnus

What happened to your childhood G1 toys? (if you don't mind me asking)

Awww, but it's such a seriously FUN toy to play with!! I think that toy even won a design award back in the early 1980s (most likely as Diaclone Powered Convoy).

I still prefer the look of the Hasbro reissue box (even if it's not G1 accurate)

Broken, given away to charity, thrown out, buried in storage, who knows?

Yes we all know how much you love 'playing' with your toys Gok - I'm the complete opposite.

**EDIT - Have decided not to go with the Hasbro reissue of UM - the long missiles do look crap. So will keep an eye out for the Takara one instead**
