I wonder why Max Factory/Figma is doing their version of Robocop? Apart from the Kamen Riders figures which are based on the US version and Michael Jackson, all other Figma are based on Japanese anime characters.

Yeah, I was pondering that myself before remembering that Robocop at least did have a cartoon series.

But HOW could you forget Billy Herrington!?
Probably not for lack of trying.
Which brings us to where we are today...

My thoughts were that after seeing the revoltech sci fi being fairly successfule, they wanted to givethe idea a go themselves.

I have never watched the Robocop cartoon, but I personally found it odd that Robocop is being marketed to kids, especially considering how Robocop 1 & 2 were classified as R rated movies and the third was rated M (and somewhat forgettable).

Now that I think back on it, a number of games came out based on Robocop aimed at kids (ie on the NES, C64 etc). I remember some 'parent' group getting all upset that King kong toys were made when the film was rated 'M' they would be having a fit about Robocop surely?

I dont get the pumpkin head variant of it though..... but then the first version is quite "insert your word here" as it is... so he can really appropriately sing "Big in Japan" I guess. You never know what makes it big in Japan isnt it... hmmm

That's what I thought too ( ). Then it becomes obvious.

There are 4 variants of Billy. Standard, Birthday, Halloween, and Christmas and New Year. I guess he likes to party.

Oh, and to the list of Figma non-cartoon oddities you can add the two + variant baseball mascotts, Doala (Home and Away versions) and Tolucky. There are also the Adam and Eve Archetype clear Figmas.
Which brings us to where we are today...
