BANDAI 1/60 Super and Armor packs for the VF-25F and S have been announced as web-shop exclusives.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

So here's something I thought I'd never say after buying the first VF-25:

The BANDAI 1/60 DX line is awesome!*

    * but not as good as the Yamato 1/60 line...
Which brings us to where we are today...

    Glad I pre-ordered one then.

Are you going to do a mini review on the new 25? After the 29 which I get the feeling was lackluster from your opinion, saying the DX line is awesome is significant praise.

I am already a huge fan of the 27 toy though, so half way there.

So how do we get our hands on these web exclusives? I assume they are just armour and they will latter re-release the armour and toy together in one set when they have enough of our money.

The 29 was just as great when it came out of the box. It took a few months of doing nothing for the joints to loosen. So whilst I wouldn't have had a problem recommending it at the time, I'm not so sure now. Not that I'd give up my 29, I still like it a lot, it's just disappointing that there is a structural flaw. The 27s have loosened a bit too, but not as severely.

The 25 has the same luster and quality as the 29. The plastic is semi-glossy but not as much as the first version 25s. The proportions and articulation are massively improved. The canopy is a slight gray instead of purple. The head has a neck. The head lasers are rubber but much sturdier than the first release, so they stay straight. The leg fins tuck into the legs (possibly for the armor). The swing wings have detentures so they partially lock at certain angles. The paint apps and detailing on mine are fine (been a few sloppy jobs reported on MW tho). The cockpit and pilot have more detail. The transformation to and back is easier than the 29 due to the smaller shoulders.

Now if only BANDAI would do the VF-171...

    ----------------------------------------------------

Anime Export might have the super parts for sale as they did for the 29. Otherwise I would go through Ryan at Fantofan.jp.

I expect we will see bundled versions later, especially for the Tornado set, but wouldn't want to be quoted on it.

I wathched the second Frontier movie today. Kinda nice, but I still haven't worked out what was going on...

New pics of VF-17S in Dengeki Hobby courtesy Graham on MWF

Looks a lot tighter, he thinks this is the ABS test shot vs Resin in the last shots.

Ouch that's gonna hurt. What are the chances of a new run? I'm factoring in once I get it, I'll need the Super packs too. And I have an original which is going to seriously hurt.

The VF-25S is sold out too. =(

No confirmation of a new run yet. The version 1 sold out pretty quickly too and was re-issued shortly afterward. Weather or not it's worth taking the chance is up to you tho, sorry I can't really be more help.

Anime Export still list the VF-25S Ozma pre-order. Not sure if the pre-order discount still applies tho... it might have expired two weeks ago.
