I will apologize if you were offended, that was not the intention but I too was a little offended when you implied those things about me on your response to my post. I took that as a bit of an attack so I responded against what I believe to be flawed arguments based on insular personal perceptions when it comes to your views of the TMNT franchise. I also had to respond to you passing judgement that I shouldn't be a TF fan if I don't like Bayformers.

You did say that I should be hopeful that TMNT is making a "comeback" which strongly implies that it went away and was no longer active. Your following posts also seemed to build on that argument.

But anyways as you said, let's leave it be.

Edit: I just realized that I have been saying 'However' a lot

So TMNT or derivitives it is no more.

It is now just Ninja Turtles...

So not only can we now expect alien heritage, but Bay cannot even man up and take credit for his part in the name change.

Turtles aren't aliens - they're Earthlings. And if the aliens happen to resemble turtles, then isn't calling them turtles kinda insulting?? That'd be like calling Ithorians "Hammerheads," or referring to the Aqualish as "bumfaces"! Who'd do that?!?

LOL - i read that the "ithorians" found the term "hammerheads" derogatory.

semantics is a fine topic in this part eh?

"who would do that?" you ask? ... somebody is doing that right now!

i think the decision has been made. it will be PG and it will be a family movie involving the recent nuclear incident in japan. Thats the only way i can see this fitting into a nice little package.

    lol

Eh, I'll probably just wait till a trailer comes out and then make further judgements on it.

Might be a guilty pleasure, might not. Ah well

A long and pretty article on Ninja Turtles and Mass Effect 3 and the relationship between creators and consumers. (Scroll down the page to keep reading.)

    Bay's Alien Turtles Cancelled!

Michael Bay's "Ninja Turtles" reboot has had rough sailing since its announcement. Whether it was negative fan fallout over the initial announcement of the Turtles being from an alien race, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" creator Peter Laird addressing the updated origin or Kevin Eastman's endorsement, the film has certainly garnered a cornucopia of media attention. However, it looks like the heroes in a half shell will have remain on their home planet for the time being as The Hollywood Reporter reveals Paramount Pictures has shut down the reboot, pushing the December 2013 release date to May 2014. THR reports the studio has laid off pre-production staff for an "indefinite" work stoppage.

The news comes after a number of notable film delays for Paramount following the release of box-office dud "Battleship," including "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" and Brad Pitt's "World War Z." "Ninja Turtles" is produced by Bay's Platinum Dunes with Jonathan Liebesman attached to direct a script written by Kevin Eastman and Andre Nemec.

"Kids are going to believe, one day, that these turtles do exist, when we are done with this movie," said Bay at the revelation of the Turtles' new origin. "These Turtles are from an alien race, and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely lovable."

The heroes on the half shell are getting put on the shelf indefinitely.

Paramount has pulled the plug on the Jonathan Liebesman-helmed reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, pushing its release back indefinitely... and, no, it's not for 3D post-conversion and/or more Channing Tatum.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Paramount, already gun shy with the delays the studio is facing with G.I. JOE: RETALIATION and WORLD WAR Z, is willing to take its time with NINJA TURTLES in order to iron out what it feels are script problems. Rather than rush it out there in order to make its December 2013 release date and potentially damage the future of the franchise with a poor showing, Paramount is learning their lesson of putting forth a subpar product that may come back to bite them in the ass later. Better late than never.

In the meantime, Platinum Dunes will have to chill with the reboot, and, once the script is ready to go, NINJA TURTLES will move forward again... but when that will be is right now anyone's guess.

On the upside the TMNT can remain in its nostalgic glory.....for now.

On the downside, a supermodel will not be hired to play April. Then again, perhaps Hasbro will get Carly Rae Jepsen to be April!
