That's pretty cool for someone starting out collecting being able to get all 3 at one location.

Do you just accept their answer after they check the database, or do you ask them to physically get up and check the shelves and back rooms? Cos I get them do a physical check.

Like when I finally got MP10, I called and they said they had none. I asked for a physical check and the girl insisted that they none left and that she had walked past that shelf earlier and saw that there were none. I insisted that she please do a physical check of the shelves and back room. I waited. She came back and told me that they had 2, so I reserved one. So now I never believe them until they go and physically check the shelves and back room, I don't care how much they tell me that they don't have it "because the computer says so," I just say, "I'd appreciate it if you could do a physical check please."

Would you rather pay inflated aftermarket prices? Sure, sale prices are always better... but retail prices are perfectly acceptable to me.

Yup, asked for the shelves. Not the back rooms. If the person doesn't know what they're looking for, they probably won't notice it even if it's there especially when something new comes out.

I would usually wait for a sale. But the release was at the same time as the sale. The problem is losing out when there's no stock. You could always buy it overseas for less. $112 was really great. I refer to Sky Shadow/Azrael's discussion on retail price.

Get them to check the back room dude. Because they could be sitting back there waiting to be shelved -- and Toys R Us staff are like newborn babies... if they can't see it in front of their faces, it doesn't exist! Peek-a-boo! There's a toy!

Well, it's up to you if you wanna wait for a sale. With 'hot' toys like MP10, I personally wasn't willing to risk it.
