Awesome work there Mixmaster! You should blog or make a thread (which should be stickied) explaining how you went about doing that in greater detail so that other SA fans can follow your example. As you said, you've now established a precedent.

Thanks everyone. In hindsight, yes I regret not keeping a better record of it all since it did have a successfull outcome. It just seemed like a losing battle at the time. I have copies of all the letters and replies with dates so it shouldn't be too hard to piece it all together for people to read.

Nice job Mixmaster! Honestly i can't believe the discrepancy between what import stores and individuals can do. All the hoops people have to jump through to get one of these when I just walked into Shin Tokyo and bought one off the shelf...crazy. If the toy was genuinely dangerous then why are stores allowed to stock it??

Nice pics Kelvin of your custom collection and well done on the MP-05 Mixmaster. Today as I was wondering around I remembered some people on the board showing pics of T-shirts from Jay Jays so I stuck my head in and picked up 2 TF shirts for $25 total. Almost forgot that i added onto my lay-by at Toyworld the 2 Animated Leaders Megatron and Bulkhead, I had these put to the side and was still up in the air about buying them but after some discussions on price matching I managed to get them for $80 each, not a good price but at least it was a reduction of $10 each figure so I wont complain.

$80 is a pretty good local price already. They're both awesome figs.

Agreed! I saw HEAPS at Shin Tokyo less than a year ago! How can it be legal to sell it, but illegal to own it?

How did you manage that? Price-matching with what?

I think it was Iceburn that said he got his for $75 each but it wasn't at a main retail store, I spoke to the owner who i know and mentioned the $75 price tag but admitted the price I got was from someone over East. He said he couldn't match that but could sell them to me for $80 each. It must be my winning smile.
