I'd agree with you if it weren't for the fact that it's intended to be an anonymous poll

I know this hasn't degenerated and side-tracked, like it occasionally has in the past... but as I've posted before, if you are like me and don't have an interest in the UCM or it's statistical purpose (not an egotistical/boasting purpose), then please stay away... walk on by and leave others to participate who respect it enough to contribute valuable data each year.

If people are intentionally voting to ruin the statistical data of this project, their membership here could be jeopardised, as vandalism of anything on this site can lead to termination.

Gee, in this poll so far I think I am the only one that has ticked the 1000 box so you guys are beating me! Who has 5500 or more!?!?

When I answered 1135, I was going by my own counting method (which would now have me at 1142), and had neglected to take the UCM into account (should have read properly). However doing it the UCM way I would still have over a thousand so hopefully my contribution to the poll still stands

Considering that this sub poll only rounds to the nearest 500, weather you counted 1000 or 1135 doesn't matter that much since they both 'round down' to 1000 (and thus the data isn't affected).

Perhaps this higher poll can be restricted to established members (not newbies with zero posts), who can be more trusted to vote responsibly or can be followed up if necessary.
Those who are "newbie" status who have never posted here would then be removed to prevent vandalism.

Sounds good. Will this become a new poll option for higher ranking members or should I go through board staff to have the poll thread made for me?

I don't understand what you are saying.
All I was suggesting, was to have a condition on the 1000+ poll, that Newbies (Rank 1) can't vote. After the cut-off date for the poll, people who are Rank 1 would then be removed from the poll.

Would I need to make the poll non-anonymous, or are board staff able to edit polls to remove any Rank 1s who may have voted? I'm just trying to understand how your idea would be implemented.
