I picked up the english version of Guardian Heroes on the weekend for my beloved Saturn. I already had the Japanese version, but after actually breaking it out and playing it, I came to the conclusion that it IS AN AWESOME GAME! And I want the English one as well. Managed to find an OK priced one too.

Damn it's good, I love it so much.

    Treasure, such wonderful game developers!

Shame that seller was otherwise scalping the rest of his wares, as he had quite a lot of stuff! Certainly made my paltry collection sales look inadequate, but hey i managed to sell a decent amount of stuff anyway!

Currently enjoying Sonic & All Stars Transformed, a really great game that shows up Mario Kart in every way. Also cracked out 1080º Avalanche on Gamecube, not as bad as i remember, never really gave it a shot back in the day.

And also eagerly awaiting my Jap N64 and copy of Shindou Wave Race 64, so i can play in glorious full speed for a change!

Very true. I still chuckle about him telling me Guardian heroes has gone for $400 on ebay... The rest of his Saturn games were fairly rubbishy though, billions of copies Sega Rally, Tomb Raider and Daytona CCE. I wonder what his lowets price was, I've seen TR go for less than 6 bucks and I wouldn't pay anymore.

Well maybe the SNES and 64 versions of Mario Kart are still better
But when they just keep rehashing it, barely changing between versions it gets a bit tiresome!

Gametraders sell a 3rd party controller for $30 that are alright in quality, not quite the same plastic or weight in the correct places but better than risking getting a second hand controller with the dreaded "dead stick" syndrome.

Always a risk with second hand 64 controllers.

I've been tempted several times by these analog stick replacements on ebay. Easy to install and supposedly decent.

I haven't bothered cause my lone N64 pad is still pretty good and apparently the feel is somewhat different just because of the nature of the n64's mechanical analog design and length of throw on the stick.

I can vouch for the replacement sticks, they are effectively mini-gamecube sticks, better than the original IMO.

Gots me some bedtime reading to do!

I am very curious as to how this book will refer to Sonic 2006.

Preliminary scans (with my eyes) look promising and it is fairly long and nicely presented. I look forward to this!

So... plenty of Wii U news tonight!

Virtual Console for Wii U. Buy games you've bought before, again! But this time you can play them on the gamepad. Lame. I wish they'd stop wasting new game development resources on this but i'm sure it makes them a tonne of money so that'll never happen. They do have the option to 'upgrade' previous Wii VC purchases to Wii U ones for a fairly reasonable cost i guess, but i'm over it!

Yoshi platformer by Good Feel (who made Wario Land Shake It & Kirby's Epic Yarn). Looks more like Yoshi's Story than Yoshi's Island but i still have some optimism for this... though i've kinda got my 2d platforming fix from NSMB2 & U recently.

Zelda Wind Waker HD version for end of year. I wouldn't be interested if this was just HD, but they're apparently tuning up the gameplay, which hopefully amounts to re-instating the dungeons they inexcusably cut from the original release. And it wouldn't hurt to make ocean traversal a bit simpler and faster, and tighten up the end of game fetch quest while they're at it!

A new Zelda for Wii U... that's a long ways a way and again they're saying challenges the notion of what a Zelda game is. Hopefully the first thing they realise that it ISN'T, is a time consuming, hand-holding insult to player intelligence!

Mario Kart & Mario 3d something confirmed to be playable at E3.. Smash Bros in video form only.

What looks like a Xenoblade sequel from Monolithsoft.. is probably what i'm most interested in, having not getting around to playing the Wii game.

That's a lot of stuff but really most of it is predictable old Nintendo mega-sellers yet again... Yet another Nintendo announcement goes by without a new F-Zero, Wave Race or 1080!
I'm hoping they've saved some truly new or seldom revisited franchises for E3.
