sigh the acquistions thread and this thread tire me out...

Anyway since I am not acquisition-ing anything here I am.

Looking at buying Armoured Core game. I ahve found two that pique my interest.

Armoured Core V and "Armoured Core For Answer". yes that is really what it's name is. I am not too sure which to go with. Youtube seems to be lacking on ACFA reviews of any quality and I remember talking to someone about them at a nexus meet. Soooo, anybody had any AC experiences?

I'm an AC vet and I can vouch for the series, they are amazing if you're into customizing your own mechs and piloting them in epic missions.

Cool. I had a voucher and ended up getting V after much deliberation. I think the differences in HUD eventually sold me. Thing is, I probably won't be on MP much, and I believe the V campaign is a bit dry. But I mainly got it to make my own Mech

Looking forward to giving it a while really.

One question, For Answer has the base assault mission, where you take on a massive battleship robot thing. From what I have seen they look awesome. Does V have those missions as well?

Been a big Mach game fan since I got hooked on Virtual on, on my Saturn. That and its sequel Oratorio Tangram on the DC have sucked away many hours of my life and I have't had a satisfying mech game for ages now. Gundam Vs ZAFT wasn't bad, but I couldn't really get into it. And I did really enjoy this awesome Japanese macross game. Very cool, made you feel like you were part of the world and piloting a valkyrie!

Some of those big missile sold me on AC though. Woot!

AC V shrunk the robots to have more domesticated, street fights then the large base scaling missions of AC4:FA.

Just finished Prince of Persia Sands of Time HD on ps3, I loved this game as a kid when i first played it back in 2003 and I still love it now. Moving onto Warrior Within and Two Thrones HD soon.

Picked from misc toys thread, thought this would be a good spot.

Picked up a heap of PS3 games from various TRUs in Perth for $15 and under. They are getting rid of all their Xbox and PS3 stuff as they 'can't compete' with the likes of EB Games so I was told. Anyway, managed to get War For Cybertron, DOTM, ROTF and the first one, plus heaps of other titles.

    Should be Australia wide?

Now all I need is a PS3 Console.

    Default Steam sucks

I'm one of those people who prefer to have objects physically in my hand, which is why I have avoided Steam in the past.
But last night one of my sons told me Fall of Cybertron and its expansion packs were on sale, so I weakened and joined Steam.
Purchasing was easy, then it said I had to download Steam. Fine, did that and a Steam shortcut appears on my desktop.
Double click.. "checking for available updates". After a while, "extracting package" and the window closes.
Hunky-dory, so I click on the shortcut again. And again, checking for updates.
Finished again, click again, checking and updating AGAIN!!!
And that's all it's been doing all night and morning!?!?!

Am I missing something or have I just lost my money?

I'm going to put this in the vent thread too. Any helpful advice would be welcome.
