    Default US G1 boxed v Jap G1 boxed ?

Hey guys I was browsing TFsource.com and noticed G1 transformers for sale. They had both US and JAP ones boxed for sale and I was wondering if there are any real differences between the two in regards to the actual final product ? also is one make more desirable than the other or are they much of a muchness ? And any real information regarding the purchase of g1 transformers, hints and tips, things to look out for when buying.Thank you

Takara boxed TFs almost always seem to be listed for higher prices for most series compared to it's Hasbro counterpart. I always keep my Takara boxes because of that. I'm not sure why on G1 as there wasn't many changes made between the Hasbro and Takara versions, tho some do exist. In modern toys almost every last Takara release has differences from Hasbro's.

There also seem to be quite a lot more Takara ones actually in box. Only seen a few Hasbro G1 figs in a good-condition box.

I'm getting both :P But I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the Takara version will be more accurate.

TRANSFORMERS: DEICIDE -- The Beast Wars 20th Anniversary Comic Book series that could have been...
TRANSFORMERS: UNITY -- the BotCon 2016 Comic Book that should have been...

Yeah, I'm thinking the green on the Takara version is more accurate but the yellow on Hasbro's is more accurate. Makes it hard to decide which preorder to cancel, might just shell out for both since I got a good price on the Takara one from HLJ.

But I got to agree with Takara Rhinox all the way.

Maybe order both but don't open the toys until after you've received both and you can compare them through the packaging and/or through other people's in hand photos. Then decide which one you'd like to keep and sell the other MOSC at the same price you paid to recoup your costs.

    Hey guys,

Whats the difference between the Hasbro MP's and the Takara Tomy MP's? Is there anything major in the way they transform, look, stand, what they come with etc?

I know with SW i just purchased from TRU it came with all the cassettes and yellow eyes not red. Is the Takara version the same thing with red eyes?

Depends on the toy as to whats been changed.

Off the top of my head here are the differences.

    MP-01 redeco with battle damage.
MP-03 cartoon based redeco with weathering, minor mold change for safety.
MP-06 uses Hasbro MP-03 mold with toy accurate redeco.
MP-07 uses MP-11 mold with some non canon based tampos.
MP-08 many minor deco changes plus he comes with a crown but missing other accessories.
MP-09 toy accurate redeco, missing trailer. (edit) comes with his Targetmaster companion.
    MP-10 minor deco changes.
    MP-11A we don't know yet.
MP-13 comes with MP-15 and MP-16 has yellow eyes for toy accuracy.

Takara tends to shoot for cartoon accuracy most often, Hasbro toy accuracy. But not always.
