    This summed up my thoughts..

"Sure wish they'd have gone Classics scale so I would give them money.
Sticking with MP scale was boneheaded.
    Easy pass." MrBlud of tfw2005

Problem with that comment is that it is short shifted and shows a complete lack of understanding of the manufacturing process. Going from the comments of people in the know on this project, it was well underway and significant capital had been invested prior to he announcement of the official MP. So they were, more than likely, committed. And changing scale isn't as simple as entitled fanbois like to believe. You basically have to start from scratch and do a complete redesign.

Yes a classics scale Magnus would have been better. Maybe they did think they could compete with an official MP. Maybe they are boneheads. But to call them so without having a clue as to their reasoning? Yeah. That's awesome

Not bad. Unfortunately KFC have regularly shown their QC is not up to scratch, I think people should stay clear.

That is why you ask for no thigh and leg pieces of chicken. Keeps everything from going super greasy. On a serious note though, KFC has QC issues. We thinking the plastic is going to be pretty bad?

This would rock if it were classics scaled. Still suspect on quality but it does look good design and sculpt wise.

Also an interesting un-magnus like bio with the selling of carcasses and stuff.

I do not want to put words into MrBlud's mouth but my interpretation and support of his "boneheaded" remark follows.

It was heavily rumoured (even by Takara) for about 3-ish years that a Takara Ultra Magnus Masterpiece release is coming and Takara is rumoured to have many figures in advanced stages of design. The scuttling of an unofficial Soundwave by MP-13 seem to support this and "insiders" were left red-faced when their upcoming predictions were wrong. So to spend so much on making an unofficial Masterpiece of a popular character and give Takara fair warning by announcing it (especially after what MP-13 did) is a very big gamble.

Also, unlike the unofficial Soundwave this KFC release does not have the look of a Masterpiece. So apart from continuing this risky venture where Takara may announce or even release a figure before you, if an official figure comes out yours will automatically be the loser in many peoples eyes.

Seeing a potential market is not as important in business as seeing things objectively, cutting your loses and changing tack salvaging what you can. I would call KFC's pursuit of this stubborn and naive but I guess we will see how it sells - and technically the official one could still be a disaster.
