Checking the completed auctions/BINs, that's US Dollars & without shipping (so you could easily add another $100 on top of that given the slack Aussie dollar at the moment... )

The lowering AU$ is also giving me pause. Since the mold exists, it will be a real pain if I pay for one on Ebay and a short time later Takara reissues it.

That is not beyond possibility, look at what happened with the Classics Seekers.

There's a decent chance that TakaraTomy could trot the moulds out for King Posiden (sp?)... even if it's unlikely Hasbro would do the set in G1 colours.

I have Piranacon (and God Neptune), so I have no vested interest, but would love to see TT do this so that others can enjoy Piranacon as well (:
