Well thats craptastic. Far worse than the QC issues that have been reported by US buyers.

The strips on the arms have been clearly noted as absent since the US re-release in July. Actually the reason I pulled the pin on a first-run US one when I did.

Update for those of you in Brisbane. From what I know Garden City had one Grimlock left and Aspley have said that it is not appearing on their system (and do not take names down to 'hold' stock.)

Sigh, I don't even know if it's worth the time and effort to take it back and get it replaced. More than likely they won't have any more units left if I do take it back. I just wished they did more QC checks.

I was referring more to the elbow misassembly being the tragedy here...

There might be a second batch shipped to us in October so you might be able to jump on that. I'd be concerned about getting an even worse copy of the toy though, so you might wanna hang onto the one you have instead of a flat out exchange just in case.

    hmmm....
this review/comparison mentions loose joints on the hips:

is that something that would affect the majority of units or random qc error? i am REALLY keen to grab this as having only recently come back into transformers I was not around/aware of previous versions etc so $130 is an awesome price for something that looks on average $200 plus shipping online.

Given multiple reviews, it doesn't look like loose joints are an isolated case for MP03. However they are generally fixable: http://www.allspark.com/forums/topic...-loose-joints/

Hopefully the elbow thing is less prevalent though.

You can always start a WTB thread & see if a member in your state can assist. I'd also ring the store in question and ask if they have a home shopping option available. If that doesn't work at a store level, try their Head Office & see if they can organise something.

I got Grimlock from TRU today and I'm really not sure what to do... My original thought was to do as Gok suggested and sell of my 2010 Trapezoid Grimlock so I could get MP-03 Grimlock for the uniform box design to go with Soundwave and Acid Storm. But after a quick look, I prefer my 2010, and I don't think I'm THAT keen for the box. I could maybe sell the 2014 Figure in the 2010 package, but would anyone want that? I guess it would be fine for people who throw out the boxes anyway. Otherwise I guess it's a returner...? Not sure what grounds TRU allow for returns.

Please have a listen to my songs. Feel free to comment if you wish, any constructive feedback is appreciated =o)
