Japanese DVDs and blurays are ridiculously expensive. EVERYWHERE. (In Japan)

how do they even afford that stuff? i'm guessing a lot of dvds and blu rays reach the bargain bin pretty fast.

Weird mixture of disposable income, nerds and nationalism. If Japanese DVD/Bluray were too expensive to be bought they would have come down in price a long time ago, but I guess it seems to work for them? Pretty ridiculous though.

The rental market is till pretty strong in Japan as well. Although I am still not entirely sure how many people buy DVDs/Blurays etc.

I think Ploughman's lunch has a fairly good summary of the reasons why there.

I know that's really expensive but I am weirdly tempted...great paint job. But already have a Hound...have blu ray AOE...still tempting...ive got issues..

I have both of those and still bought it. It looks so much better than the AOE one.

Even better in real life than the photos.
