Does he come out of the box in robot mode? If so I won't be overly bothered by the qc issues but in general I feel that takara need to think about a recall, especially if they start breaking on those wing hinges.

Yeah, he comes packaged in 'bot mode -- Kurdt has a pic in the first post.

Since the wing part with the issue comes off the 'bot quite easily, I would hope Takara could supply replacement bits in the event of a breakage:

Some people are calling BS on the tfsource email due to some kind of similar shenanigans with MP Exhaust. They don't think there is actually a recall and that tfsource will attempt to check and fix them all before sending them back to customers. I checked my email and I don't have anything similar from RobotKingdom (I have previously emailed them regarding the issues). Does Takara have an official Facebook etc where they might make announcements?

I should have clarified. Some people don't believe there is actually recall, and that tfsource wants you to return it so they can fiddle with it themselves and then send it back.

Yeah i said that myself a few posts ago! My last post was talking about TakaraTomy Mall who i bought mine from direct - they want me to send it back. They didn't say anything about recall or even being aware of the issues so far.

Damn, thoroughly inspecting mine again, I notice a QC problem. The panel lining is exactly the same instead of being mirror opposites. This is purely cosmetic and does not hinder transformation but is enough to bug me to want to purchase a replacement. Anyone know if PC will exchange this?

I'll buy that one off of you if you can't get a replacement. I'm none too fussed about minor stuff like that s long as it doesn't affect transformation.
