Aah... so you only sold off 6 months' worth of TF collecting. That's not so bad or as "huge" a sacrifice as I'd thought. Yeah... if someone sold a twenty-four years' worth of TFs then I would expect the party to have a Space Mountain ride loaned from Disneyland. (it would actually be cheaper just to go to Disneyland )

    Man I love Space Mountain.

canofwhoopass_87, that's a really sweet thing you did.

It doesn't matter one bit whether it was a 1 month, 6 month or 24 year old collection you're 'sacrificing'. This point is that you were willing to make the sacrifice.

And make no mistake, it was a quality collection you let go of.

I'd do the same thing if I were put in a position to. I would sell my collection if my wife asked me to or if we needed to- for whatever reason, justified or unjustified. The underlying reason is that she is more important to me than anything else, the qualifying reason (eg: for a 21st birthday) is just collateral to that.

Toys are toys, even if they are Transformers. Even if I lose every single one, I will never lose my memory of them, I would never lose what they meant to me and still mean to me- they would remain in my mind till I die... and ironically, rather than physical toys, the memories is what I can take to my grave.

Indeed mr heroic. Very fine point you've made. I only ever wanted to collect those specific g1's bc they're the ones I grew to love and appreciate but never had the money to buy as a kid. You're right though, the memories are there and always will be.

"...ironically, rather than physical toys, the memories is what I can take to my grave" I'm positive there's going be a few members on this board who are actually going to be buried with their figures hehe (points at STL and goki)

Inside a pyramid set with Temple of Doom style death-traps for grave-robbers baby! YEAH! I would then return as a ghost and haunt MISP collectors, constantly opening their precious sealed toys! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! *rattles chains*
