Hhhmmm... perhaps Corvette just wanted to promote the yellow variant before the blue. Similar to how part of Mazda's licensing deal for the use of the RX-8 for BT Jazz was to have the toy released in both red (Zoom-Zoom) and white (Meister) variants.

Possible, I vaguely recall that yellow was the "hero" colour for the Z06 top of the line version of the C5.
