The sale starts tomorrow. There was a misprint in the catalogue printed for Myer Hobart saying the sale started 27/11, which was put out in the paper, which meant the store had to start running the prices earlier (but they didn't have any of the stock, as that's been timed to arrive just in time for the sale...). They should show up as $50 from tomorrow onwards. Ultra's will be on special for $50 too IIRC...

As expected, my Myer had no stock in of Bruticus or Superion, and weren't even sure if they'd be getting any, while Hobart's delivery was a total of 2 Bruticus(es) which were both sold pronto. There was even a lovely sign up in the store that said:

"DUE TO GROSS INCOMPETENCE OF OUR CENTRALISED DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM, WE CAN'T OFFER YOU ANYTHING FROM THE CURRENT CATALOGUE, NOR CAN YOU PUT YOUR NAME DOWN FOR IT BECAUSE THAT WOULD JUST BE TOO MUCH WORK FOR OUR STAFF. ANY COMPLAINTS SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO THE MANAGER, WHO IS ON PERMANENT HOLIDAY. MERRY CHRISTMAS, ****ERS"

Well okay, it didn't say that exactly, but yeah, useless as usual at the Launceston Myer...although to be fair the sales person there at the time was extremely helpful, and tried ringing around a few places for me.

So when I got home, on her advice, I went about ringing around various Myers across Australia, first call was to Southland, who had both of the sets in stock. For an $8.50 fee they've organised to send them down to me sometime over the next week or two. Very decent service, and nice to know that option exists across Australia at all Myer stores in case anyone ever has trouble chasing down an elusive item. $8 is a fair whack for postage, but to be fair you'd probably use up that much in petrol driving around looking for stuff sometimes.

That sign is pretty weird but the service that you've got from the other store sounds good.

I saw Stormcloud today for $50 at a Toy Kingdom, as well as the newer Robot Heroes (Ironhide, Blaster, Rhinox, Silverbolt etc) for $10. The store also had newer Universe Deluxes (Silverstreak, Sideswipe) for a $25.

Both Myers Roselands and Hurstville have lots and lots of 25th Anniversary G1 Primes. For two day only they are selling them for $80 (typically $100)

Myer Southland (Chadstone, sorry) had a bunch of combiners and a lot of 25th Prime.

I also saw Ironhide, Silverstreak and Sideswipe at a Kmart for the first time.

I still haven't seen any of this classics wave around yet. None have appeared in the local Mr Toys or the various Chermside outlets. Unless they have been stocked and then sold out again between checks (ie. during the week)...

Hanging out for Ironhide, may well pick up Sideswipe...Silverstreak, not so much. The 'Cons are way too outnumbered as it is
