I wonder how many paint applications we are going to lose on the production model.
I'm guessing the yellow on Jolt, the detailing on the shins and the black on the shoulders and chest of Hot Shot
And I think Ratchet will lose the red on his shoulders

Yeah Hotshot looks great! But I can't help but feel that those pics have been "photoshopped" to enhance the colours.

I just played with the mold last night and i didn't think he was that terrible in light of the Armada line.

Yeah, but the Armada/Energon lines were pretty ordinary for its time considering that they came straight after Car Robot/RiD. We went from a line that inspired Binaltech/Alternators (Takara have stated this) to what we got in Armada/Energon. In that context Armada/Energon was pretty 'meh.' I was extremely happy when Armada came out but that was because it broke that gawd-damn TF toy drought of 2002!

It's like what Eddie Murphy once said if you were stranded starving on a deserted island, and someone finally found you and offered you a stale cracker, that would be the best cracker you ever had in your life!

Ratchet looks good. Great that they resculpted the head unlike classics Cliffjumper.

I don't think it'll be lost at all! At least on Ratchet anyway!
Remember that repaints in this line seem to be pulled off far better than the original releases?
Look at SideSwipe and BlueSilverstreak!

I reckon the initial investment's already been paid off with the original release of the toy, so there's more room in the budget for more paint-apps - just a theory though

Kind of true, but I think they would rather save the money.
If this was true I think they would have done a better job matching Sideswipes roof paint. Yes it is better then his brother, but it is still noticeably darker.
