That seems to be more of an American thing to me. I've never seen the "heart beat" design on a Japanese ambulance, nor on an Australian one for that matter. Oh well, each makes sense in terms of their intended markets.![]()

...how is the Red Cross Organisation (or more accurately, organisations) politically incorrect? Mind you, when I placed the Red Cross on my Ratchet cosplay, a lot of people thought I was barracking for England!![]()
Using the Red Cross (or Red Crescent etc) is not allowed unless you are The Red Cross because otherwise it devalues the protection meant to apply to people wearing that emblem. Read the Symbols of the Movement section on that Wikipedia page you linked to, or the page about the symbols.
All medical kits and similar things nowadays have a green cross on them.
I agree, but I don't know if I'd classify it as "politically incorrect" though.
Why were they commonly used before?
Edit: I read the link. It's more of 'corporate correctness' than political but it still equally sucks.
