And earlier in the week I got the two swipe cards from Mr Griffin. Always wanted a set, dunno why, just found them to be a fascinating little novelty item. Thanks for them Griff!

There's actually four in the set, with Barricade and Bumblebee, but you get the leaders with that pair.

Yes, they were the hotel door access keys, but if you know of something that can use cards with magnetic strips, you could use them. But not sure of anything myself, as those sort of places use their own signature cards (video stores, gyms, hotels, etc), usually for security purposes.
Ah well, they look good, even if they probably can never be used...

Just had a second thought. Since the keys were not handed back in, if they didn't get to wipe them, they should theoretically be able to access the rooms they were 'written' to access. The magnetic strip would have been 'encoded' to access a certain room, for the door to recognise. And unless the door reader knows the day and time, it would continue to accept that door key until that key is rewritten or wiped.
Next time I'm in Rhode Island, I'll have to find out if it still opens my hotel room from last year.
