Does the cannon actually attach to anything on the hip, or is it just held their by his arm, or is it you just have the arm in the odd position so it can look like it is on his hip?

Its a cheat. Arm in odd position so it can look like its on his hip. I would have way preferred it if the cannon was detachable as I could have installed something on his hip to fix it there on a plug-in basis.
