It's often just random checks. I once had a parcel checked that contained my Machine Wars Transformers... but Customs bent MW Megatron's card in half when they roughly stuffed all the toys back in (and other boxes suffered scrapes and dents, especially on corners ).

Instead of repairing my original G1 Astrotrain's broken leg, I decided to get a replacement.
(Astrotrain that is, not leg).
So hello Commemorative Series Astrotrain, courtesy of SgtMikeLarry (thanks for the Xmas wishes! ).
Was almost a shame to remove him from the box. Almost.
So nice to have a tight version of this figure again. My original has been well worn with loose joints since about 1990.
Believe I like the reissue colours better too.
My broken original is now packed in box instead (final resting place?).

White Astrotrain really is a beauty!! Always liked his colours.

I'm surprised you didn't just buy one off Amazon Japan.

Didn't do so for 2 reasons...

1: I wasn't planning on getting him at all, but I had to pick up a few things from Yamada Denki (had to replace my old keitai recently and needed a new case and some cables) and there was one last one there, so I put him into my basket along with the other stuff. Hence the impulse buy bit.

and

2: Japanese banks won't give me a credit card, because a) I'm a gaijin and b) Immigration is only giving me 1-year Visas.
