Default Hasbro US Movie toy launch promotion

Hasbro in America are having a five day promotion to celebrate the launch of the new movie toyline on April 24th (Monday, which is Tuesday our time)... with product videos and new reveals.

It is being called "Reveal Your Shield", for fans to choose their allegiance... something already done on a previous version of the official Transformers App. (and yes, the title is similar to the 2010 toyline that was called Reveal the Shield)

The press release mentions the Transformers website, the Transformers Facebook page (not the movie facebook page, which Paramount runs), the Transformers instagram, and the App, so it looks like there might be a coordinated promotion across all of the platforms for fans to follow.

Lets see if there is anything revealed that we don't already know....

With the global release date now reached in America (April 24th), the new website is now live, and the Reveal Your Shield promotion has begun, with the first day's reveal on facebook being the voice changer masks (that we've seen already), featuring the voices of Peter Cullen (Optimus) and Frank Welker (Megatron).

The FULL American Transformers Movie toyline website can be found here.

The Australian website (looks to be identical at this time, but might be missing things later, as updates don't often get added to the non-American pages), can be found here.

While we wait for the day two reveal from Hasbro America, a toy commercial has just been released by Hasbro Taiwan, for the first wave of Deluxe and Voyager Movie Premier toys.

Well... this reached an anticlimax real fast... considering it is supposed to be hyping us up for the Movie toyline.

After day one's nice video with Peter Cullen and Frank Welker (for non-toy items), day two ended up with just having an entertainment stop-motion video, and day three "revealed" a toy that has been known about for three months now (it was the second movie toy to be leaked) and was already officially released in stores two days ago, so isn't a mystery to anyone.

Well, keep an eye on the Transformers facebook page for the rest of the week's promotions... if we get anything revealing rather than just entertaining.

Day four had a few random things posted on different sites, that were allegiance themed, without revealing anything new... but then the MP Movie Optimus was officially revealed at a Chinese event, that was then piggybacked by Hasbro America with their press release and official images (but I don't think it was noted as being part of this 5 day promotion).

Day five, the final day, had two videos posted up on the Transformers facebook page. One had a montage of movie scenes with a voice over that was meant to be Optimus Prime, but was definitely NOT Peter Cullen. Probably Jon Bailey, or some other stand in that you here on a few of the Optimus toys that say lines as their electronic gimmick.
The other video was about 2 minutes long, showing Hasbro America employees revealing their allegiances.

Hopefully their next coordinated global promotion for Transformers is better planned out than this one... but I guess they might be leaving their full attention to Transformers in June when the movie comes out, as they might be too busy getting ready for next month's 40th anniversary of the first Star Wars movie (May 25th 1977), along with their May the 4th Star Wars day that happens next week.
