The girl is Hatsune Miku, she's a vocaloid which basically means she's a voice synthesizer application who appears as a hologram on stage in concerts. She's like a Japanese pop star that doesn't exist. I think she's awesome!

And the fellow with the cape is the main character from the anime Code Geass.

I am in the same boat here, never bothered with phone cameras before, so thought 'don't really care' but I usually have it with me, as opposed to my camera, so now I wish I'd paid more attention to phone quality.

I've been wondering if there is any photoshop in your pictures, they al look so good, the backgrounds included. the laptop screen as a backdrop is great.!

I use Adobe Lightroom to tweak the colour and contrast a little bit and add the dark vignetting around the edges but that's all.

HAHA the way BRS came about is actually really cool (to me anyway), basically BRS began as an original character design/artwork which inspired a vocaloid song which inspired an OVA and an anime. I just love the combination of a bunch of creative outlets joining together. :D

I agree. That shot is Amazing.

The one with 2 bone claws is Draken (sp?). He is Wolverine's son and actually has a 3rd claw that can come out of his wrist giving him a 3 pronged claw set up. He has a hatred for Wolverine.

I agree 100% with what you said about using other people's photos as inspiration - I do it all the time!! I love this thread. I love sharing my photos and I love seeing the photos others create. It's so much fun, especially when there are more people posting pictures.

I wanted to take some photos of Lelouch with Izaya (for the lolz because they share the same English voice actor) today and as I was changing his arms, I noticed he shares a very similar pose as Strutting Leo aka Leonardo DiHapprio. So this happened. I don't even know. Haters gonna hate. :D

This is for those of you who might be interested in my set up when taking my photos. It's nothing fancy at all. Seriously.

My light source is a window. My figures sit on a chair with an IKEA shelf on top to create a flat surface for the figure to stand on. Behind that is usually either an A3 sheet of white cartridge paper that I blutac to the back of the chair and curve to create an infinity background or lately I'm using my iPad for backgrounds that aren't just plain white - photos, patterns etc. Lastly, there's my camera on my tripod that is older than I am (my dad actually bought this tripod before he even met my mother!) and then I either sit or kneel on the floor. And that's my set up! It's far for professional or expensive. But it works for me.

I'm contemplating making myself a DIY cardboard/tracing paper/desk lamp light box soon. I'll post pictures if and when I do.

Thanks...I think it was just plain luck I got such a well composed photo considering I am using a 5 mega pixel camera from my old samsung mobile:D:D:D:D

Thanks for the comments - I was hoping to give the illusion of an actual person, but I didn't think it would work so well, even with thumbnails viewed at a distance!

This statuette was surprisingly difficult to photograph, because I didn't want to photograph the base, so I had to be a little bit careful when picking angles...

Sword was made by Dr. Wu. I got it from an ebay seller but no stock atm, he has the blasters though Max Power (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Transformers-Prime-custom-2-Guns-Optimus-Prime-DR-WU-Stock-/120968033524?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item1c2a41b4f4). I have the FE version but will probably stay in his plastic tomb :).

Nice figures although mine have QC issues. Not-Racthet has missing screws (gap on the right foot) and Not-Ironhide came with a stress mark on one of the shoulder panel out of box. Another issue would be shoulder panels, they are annoying. The shoulder panels rub against the bumper and headlights.

I think these guys are meant for MP Display. The engineering is great, some tabs/hinges are small and thin but functional. They scale well with current classic voyager's but a tad taller than classics prime. They are bulky in bot mode but compact on alt mode. The extra accessories are great but not necessary.

IMO its a great update to the Hastak release or stand in for MP display until an official one is released. Price is on the high side especially with the delays and QC issue but I think they are worth it.

I agree that he feels light. Some metal would be nice, but I think he only really needs it in his feet if anywhere. It is overpriced, I would feel happy paying, um, say about 6500 yen. I think that's fair.

The engineering on it is fantastic though! So many joints, and such like. The thigh cover slides up and down as you bend his knee for example. Lets just say I have paid more for worse figures. (Tekkaman Blade and Pegas. I am looking at YOU).

And the eye gimmick is frkking wundafulllllll

I agree, it is rather sinister-looking. It's the Black Sarena (also romanised as Selena), the protagonist's mech from Martian Successor Nadesico: The Prince of Darkness with an armoured shell. (I understand it's also appeared in Super Robot Wars and Another Century's Episode.) This one is from Bandai's Soul of Chogokin: Spec line.

Sadly, not terribly posable in its armoured form, as seen here, and very pricey on eBay due to its rarity.

I havent really had time to actually take new photos with my SLR been using the IPad for a while its so handy and convenient. i know this is just photography of toys but i want to challenge everyone to make a story out of your shots without any captions or used of any dialog and let the shot tell the story by makig the audience think? it can be drama, comedy, action. everyone is still welcome to take a shot of photos of there toys but lets raise the level a little bit. what do you guys think?

The base figure - the Aestivalis mech - has metal legs and hips, otherwise it's all plastic. The armour is all plastic.

It's Combattler V. Yup he does separate into 5 vehicle components. It's one of the great robots from the Robot Romance series (early 70s mecha cartoons of Japan) - the other two being Daimos and Voltes V. All got cancelled in Philippines under Martial law era due to subversive undertones in the storyline (rebellion, war, violence etc) but was later shown after the overthrow of Ex Pres Marcos's 20 year dictatorship rule.


As for deceptics pics - I believe he is using glass mirrors :)
