I did some size-checking from the pics at transformers-universe.com and as best I can tell the smaller HA humans should be slightly taller (about a half-head or so) than Corer. Will have to wait and see more details on the trailer as to whether or not to bite I guess, but it looks pretty promising so far.
Also kind of surprised at how tall Steelcore is in bot mode - didn't think he'd be taller than the Shougo Hasui MP cars.

Plus a Black Series Vader, and some stage-figure-holding arm thingys that all the pros use to pose their figures.

The Wheeljack add-on is very impressive. No wonder it costs so much.

Have you got Riftshot/Recoiler coming in from FPC? I just watched Peaugh's review of the full armoured Revolver + Riftshot/Recoiler's alternate transformation and it looking pretty amazing.

Oh yeah he is awesome!! Just put the combiner together... very well proportioned, love the massive sword. I think it's a very close competition but at the moment will still put MakeToys Green Giant as my favourite combiner.

I didn't hear about Riftshot & Recoiler until it was too late... sold out now. Honestly not sure if it would've been tempting enough for me to fork out upwards of AUD260 to get the pair. Am happy with not-Roadbuster as is.

That's interesting... never done that myself!The short explanation is that used/resealed stuff tends to be way cheaper than buying new here in Japan (loose stuff even more so), so for mass-retail stuff I usually pass on it until I can find it second-hand. Masterpiece TFs and most 3PP stuff tends to go the opposite way and get more expensive over time, though you do find the occasional used 3PP bargain.

In this case, all the TT Hoist-&-Trailbreaker sets I can find right now are a bit more pricey than I'd like.:( I'm pretty sure one of them will show up used (and therefore cheaper) at Mandarake or Jungle sooner or later, or even on clearance price at my closest Toys R Us, but by then the upgrade kits will probably be gone. I checked the online prices for the kits and it worked out more or less the same after postage, so it seemed worth getting it now and waiting on a cheaper base figure set than the other way around.
The end result should be the same, but a little easier on my wallet.;)

Also this came for Grimlock, really happy with the sword and shield and the head upgrade for him, just the only let down would be the chest filler as it could have been a bit bigger to make the Alt mode look more defined. But over all not a bad upgrade kit. :)

Cubex not-Huffer: loosish, a couple of small scuffs on the lefts (not terribly visible in robot mode), but I wouldn't recommend him. Cool design, sub-par manufacturing.

KFC Citizen Stack (not-Magnus): a couple of minor scuffs on the outside panel of the trailer, but nothing major. Cool design, but feels a bit "cheapish", without any particular negatives. Will no doubt order the Diaclone coloured version and relegate this one to alt-mode, with penny-racer style Bii and MP12J on the back. Not bad, but if you're only going to get one Magnus, hit up Takara.

As far as i know they made 2 different sets for them, one was for the Hasbro version which came with non-chromed weapons and the painted wings which i got. And the other one was made for the Tomy/ Takara set which came with the chromed weapons. But i thought it would have had painted wings as well.:confused:

GOW set for the missile launchers and and the cassette. Trailbreaker and Hoist upgrade (gotta put the stickers on them) Hound looks much better with his guns. Arcee looks nice too. Headmaster Soundwave is ok, needs a tiny Con symbol on his chest. Fort Max stands quite nice. Slag is great, as everyone is saying. Arms on him are not loose either.

MGS03. Comes with Ravage guns and lil fuel tanks and a plate to better hold his shoulder cannon. Guns combine for car mode to have his laser cannon. Looks nice too.

Shouldet/forearm bits. Leg extenders, extra footplates to make him slightly taller, new head piece too. And a random black piece that I have no idea what for lol. As I've said, you get a pretty crappy picture with the upgrade with no instructions. I had to use online pictures to figure it out.

That's a cool Superion upgrade set. What's it called and where did you get it? It makes the Crossfire Superion look more...well stable ;)

The Energon combiner is pretty horrible so it needs all the upgrades it can to look decent if no other company aside from TFC wishes to do proper aerialbots.

It makes him way more stable and taller. The extra thigh piece holds his legs together better anf sturdier. Can do more poses without him falling over in a mess. I'll take some more pictures this arvo, size him up with Bruticus for better scale. Picture I posted doesn't really show the size difference well :o

A few cons though. The plastic looks kinda cheapish, most noticeably on the red waist piece. His right elbow is loose, but nail polish can fix that. Plugging the fists into the new arms was a tight fit, so tight I don't think I can get it back out. Gonna try and make the hole slightly bigger. The gold bits on the headpiece don't fit together tightly, small gap between the pieces. You get 2 headpiece parts, but with the small headpiece attached, you can't transform him without removing it again.

Bad stuff aside, it looks and feels way better than before.

Price wise, it's on the more expensive side sadly. $39.90. If it was cheaper, it would be better, but I'm still happy with it.

That's what my Wreckers use to have. But the plastic on the Wreckers is just so damn cheap and crap. I decided to put the set on G2 Bruticas instead.

I got Xtransbots Krank and Stax from TFIDownunder and I think they're awesome. For the price they are really cool figures with very MP style features. No photos yet, but I'll post some of them slotted into my collection when I get a chance. Can't wait for MP Bumblebee.... I think they'll scale quite nicely.

Oh no major complaints. I just think the swords are ridiculous and are hard to attach in certain modes. Some Alt modes are rather ordinary like the APC mode and Wolf mode. But it's a great quality figure.

I believe the one you are talking about is a KO oversize/up scale (4th party if you will) of the Hexatron. It's not produced by MMC, and will feature diecast.

Snagged a KO TFX-01J (Diaclone coloured trailer/Ultra Magnus armour). Arrived yesterday. Besides the issues known to the KO (a couple of ill-fitting parts that I can fix), I'm really happy with it. Very much a fan of the Diaclone colours and the fact it was in the promo reel for the 86 film.

Some fiddling, some areldite, a sheet of modelling styrofoam and a couple of faction stickers later, and a free junker Optimus Prime is now permanently a Diaclone Magnus.

Anyone able to recommend a Magnus gun sculpt in a suitable size?

How's the plastic quality on the Matrix, liege?
Very tempted to grab me a piece... Looks awesome!

Plastic quality is very good, light, but does not feel cheap. Not bendy plastic. Kinda like your handling Energon or Armada toy plastic. or those extendable pantry layered shelf plastic you put your canned goods on. The glossy metallic finish of the paints is very good as well, no smudges on mine. NO sharp edges as well. My fingers fit in nicely in holes of the holders.

The spring that keeps both halves of the matrix is kinda stiff on mine which makes it a bit of an effort to keep open for the light up feature. As, you can see the light is really really bright.

The base plate is hollow though but not soft plastic. and the autobot sigil that should be in the front is missing... a good size sticker can help fix that. I think in the original this was a heavy solid base stand, but here its juts a hollow stand plate. It still does the job well and is of same material and good finish as the matrix itself.

Comes with the face plate head as pictured in promo shots, as well as a replacement "face", which is the Citizen Stack face previously released. Just unscrew, and replace the face.

I bought the SXS head kit because I wanted the visors, as to me, it's the most accurate version to the 86 film/it's promo reel.

I'd be curious to know how easy/intuitive Quantron is to transorm. I'm on the fence, but don't want to but it if its really complex to memorise.

Got my Quantron today.

Quantron isn't intuitive to transform. The instruction manual does not help at all. I spent hours trying to figure out what they wanted me to do but I finally got it after watching a youtube review instead. It doesn't help as well that some parts are sharp and bendy feels like it's gonna snap, thank goodness it did not on mine. grrrr..

What I hated though is that the set I got has a defect in one figure - it got packaged with the same foot not a pair - Sonic Drill. if it wasn;t a vital part I wouldn't be so pissed right now. Unfortunately it's a part needed to keep the gestalts foot secure.

I have emailed BBTS and Maketoys regarding this production error. got a reply from Maketoys

"Hi ----, thanks for your email.

We request that you please send your issue to BBTS as that is where you purchased the item. I am sure they will be able to assist you with any issues.

Please let me know if there is anything else we can do for you. "

So I sent them a reply kinda slightly pointing out it's a production error and you guys kinda sold them a faulty piece so shouldn't it be your responsibility to rectify it? - though not in those words, but in a less toned way, coz I'm so incensed... spending a $400 toy and they can't make good they're QC :mad::mad:
... were it Takara I've emailed, a part would've been provided since it's a production error, not a retailer's fault. Oh well I still am waiting for BBTS's response. Hopefully they can help.

Thanks. we can do swapsies if it's the opposite hehehe. I'm actually thinking of looking into that 3d printer shop I saw at Parramatta - next tot he train station. if they could scan a piece and invert it to produce a reverse printout thereby producing the pair I need then my problems are solved. That is if they do such things. I've yet to enter there and learn what exactly are they selling or their services.... either that or I borrow from someone within NSW the piece and have it scanned then send it back reg post to make sure it makes it back:D but better if in person hand to hand....

I've had two faulty Funko ReAction figures, both replaced free, one shipped, the other (the faulty was discovered later) is now in my current POL. No charges for either, though you can see a charge in your order - it's just not charged to your card.

In both cases I was advised to keep the faulty stock, and it may be required to be sent back if there's more (I guess if it's worth enough, $-wise).

check that the feet on your driller are a pair and not the same (left or right only) coz it's vital to holding the combiner foot when in gestalt mode. that is the only flaw in the set I received. BBTS is sending me a correct piece which Im still waiting on. Also they should have sent you an extra chest piece to change the chest piece for the car figure.

The instructions are confusing coz they combine multiple visual instruction in one picture which small as, too. Best to watch a you tube video review coz I certainly had a hard time figuring out what they wanted me to do at times. Especially the instruction for the driller and the car can get confusing and frustrating. as much as the figure is awesome their transformations instruction manual is SH%^#$#.

Actually I dunno why they provided the extra piece... I'm not so clear with the details, but when I transformed mine first time, I found no discrepancy. Still since they provided it I replaced it so I never found out if it prolly affected the set in Gestalt mode. Hmmm the guns in my set are secure, not floating around... yet I didn't have a good Drill figure - that one has the 2 right feet ;p... still awaiting my replacement part from BBTS to arrive.

I checked the Maketoys website and it lists 2 rectifications for Quantron. It has said the US release needs the new chest piece, if its not included then it has already been fixed. I got mine fro Tfidu so I imagine it came straight from Maketoys with the problem fixed.
Still haven't had a chance to play with it :(

MMC Azalea and Zinnia arrived !! they very poseable , but their alt mode really hard to get right ,transforming them trying to tab it all together trying to align it all but the ball joint keep on popping out everywhere !! the head pop off...waist pop out it a nightmare !! lucky it made of very good plastic ...so they going to stay in robot mode for a while ! Also of note , is that Zinnia(green one ) doesn't come with swords and the main wings fender which is a bit annoying that they cost the same ...

KO mp ratbat came wed, not sure how i'm gonna end up posing him with laserbeak on soundwave's lifted arm. Currently balancing on his shoulder but if the floor shakes or door closes he falls. Hopefully i'll put laserbeak on apolyon.

Picked up xtransbots Stax (Pipes) from tfidownunder at supanova, he has a deal on Stax + Krank (Huffer) but I just wasnt sure so only bought one to start. Dont think i'll be getting Krank after opening Stax, which might be a good thing because then I'd want brawny, backland, the seaspray/powerglide if they were mp scale... So i'll just hook up mp-10 trailer and stick bumblebee on the ramp when he comes.

He's cool and all, had me worried with the shoulders really loose in the ball joints out of the box, and popped off during transformation but it was misassembly and they're back on tight. The hips are a little loose, with the backpack it gives him an anime crotch-thrust, but I'll have him in truck mode once bee comes so indifferent. The mirrors though, have to file down the posts to get them in. Overall, happy with both, and Mr Tfiguy is a nice guy too.

Thought I'd stick my toe in the waters of the KO pool with this one, since I've always wanted a Sunstreaker. I don't want to promote the whole KO thing, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good it is.
Anyway, its origin and the ethical debate relating to its manufacture aside, Sunsteaker is a damn good looking figure in both modes. Awesome display piece.

I don't really like the alt-modes of Generations Metroplex enough to pick him up (that and he's just too big for a Japanese apartment), but it always sort of ticked me off that G1/Encore Metroplex couldn't have a complete city mode without losing two of his support team.
I sort of wish they were a both a bit smaller (about PE mini-bot size would do nicely), but they look pretty fun.

Haven't had time to open-and-enjoy them yet, will post up thoughts when I do.
Initial in-box impressions seem promising - posability seems at least on par with the recent Generations legends, detailing is rather good without being too busy, they both just ooze character/personality, and they look to be pretty versatile as far as accessories and playability go. Apparently they also work with the other 3P not-Sixgun offerings, so that's kind of cool.
The best way I can put it is that they seem very reminiscent of the kinds of minibots that Perfect Effect used to do, only upsized.

I paid a mite too much for them IMO (~$80 for the set), but that's Japanese specialty shop prices for you and I'm quite a fan of G1 Metroplex so I think it'll be worth it in the long run.

I have never liked Mirage either since I was a kid. I think it was that episode when he was a total wimp (cannot remember the specific name of it), its really stuck with me for the last 30 odd years.

He takes out both Skywarp and Thundercracker on his own in the 2nd episode of the pilot trilogy, he sabotages the Decepticon cruiser in the third, he hatches a plan to turn the enemy against each other in Traitor (probably the episode you're thinking of @Spiderken) which for 80s cartoons is pretty much genius-level cunning, and he steals Megatron's fusion cannon right off his arm in Desertion of the Dinobots. That's pretty hardcore for a G1 Autobot.:cool:

I also agree that he has done heaps but I cannot shake that episode from my childhood brain. I seem to only remember that and none of the cool stuff he did. If anyone would like to pay for a shrink to get in my head and find out why this is they are more than welcome.:D

How nice is Blaster? That transformation and paint job are decent. I agree re Fader, the paint is a bit of a concern but not too bad. I'm a bit disappointed they didn't paint the back of the additional heads for him.

I missed out on the first round Transistor, although Tony advised he should have plenty of stock, I guess I missed it! I did however order the second round one. Looking forward to getting it, hopefully before I go to Bali and Singapore in early Feb.

MMC Tigris and Talon (way bigger than I was expecting), plus two sets of the G1-style guns arrived courtsey of TFSource today. The rest of the the team will be coming from PlanetSteelExpress sometime in March/April, though with MMCs track record that'll probably be May/June. Not that I mind waiting, Rex is kind of a grail for me.

Coincidentally, my Tigris came with the yellow faceplate, which personally I don't need. If anyone wants a cartoon-accurate not-Rampage faceplate (and/or a set of Leo Dux shoulder cannons from the G1-style Heisenberg set) I'll be back in Oz this July/August and I'd be up for a trade if anyone has any of the other accessories I'm after.

That's pretty cool. I always liked this original design - the right amount of PCC blockiness. You can't go wrong with MakeToys (unless you're collecting all their Battle Tanker variants, then you'll go broke).

Unfortunately, this is low on my priority list with so much FP stuff coming out this year, and also the pretty cool stuff from Play With This Too.

Received my Soar from Chimungmung, no issues with shipping, item was received within a week.

I think besides Giant, Soar is my next fav 3rd party figure. So much detail, lots of die cast, plays and poses so well. Brings back so many G1 memories from the cartoon. My wife was laughing at me for taking so much care unboxing and transforming him. She couldn't believe that I was playing with him for almost 2 hours.

I've transformed him more than a few times now and posed him a bit. All joints are tight. I had to loosen a couple with a screwdriver, no pain chips, no cracks ... the gold tab on the knee is very tight, I can see why ppl have snapped it. Very impressed with this guy. Can't wait for the rest of the Di(no)bots!

i feel the same about soar.
and had a similar experience with the unboxing him.

the quality of scoria is what made me get soar. the quality and style etc of soar is what has made me get their entire product line as soon as they are released.

We have confirmed with the factory and are happy to announce that the elbow issue will be fixed, and we will include a PAIR of replacement elbows with both Talon and Tigris. Yes, Each of Talon and Tigris will include TWO replacement parts for the elbow gear issue. You will need to remove the pin to replace the part, but as many have already found it is a simple matter to do.

They should be for Fortis & Bovis (I think)
