That's a great idea. I have a few more Junkions coming so can do some swapping. Heads are one thing I will have to work on. Looking at swapping a few from junkers (if anyone has anything suitable) and/or modifying the existing ones to make them different.

Three little dinos arrived today, Summanus (Spike, so new there's not even a youtube video on him :P), Neptune (Sludge) and Caelus (Swoop). Gotta say I am super impressed with these guys – the FOC dinobots have never looked better – three down, two to go!

Some more 3rd party goodness. Tigris is probably my least favourite not-Predacon so far, he lacks the dynamics of the Bovis, Fortis and Talon, he is still good though. Just Leo Dux to go.
Hound needed some weapons to look right so I grabbed the MGS kit and Cubrar is my first not-Dinobot and I am very impressed. I will be getting the set of them for sure but first I need to swap a black head for my red one (I prefer toy accurate)

tf direct are ok to deal with, no frills most of their stuff doesnt come with extras (like mp13 hands with transistor ) but they're cheap. i havent had any issues with them as yet and ive had about 10 orders with them so far in the last 6 months

the base is hollow. quite light, but feels ok made (feels like thos 3d light things poping up everywhere)

Yes mine are a bit loose. Good on FP if they send a fix for it as the toy is not ruined by loose hips at all. 3rd party companies seem to be much better with support than Hasbro/Takara in my experience.

Both my FP Not Dinobots have issues holding their weapons. It seems sucha simple thing to get right.

Edit: and if you do get him you don't need to tuck his hands away for his alt mode. In fact doing so avoids his super articulated fingers getting jammed in his forearms.

Most of the plastic is red. Any chrome you see red plastic which has been chromed and then tinted red.

This guy was someone that I wanted after I saw a review on him. His transformation is cool and his head sclupt is just superb. Very reminisant of the G1 cartoon and fits well with the likes of MP 21 bumblebee and other masterpieces. If you're ok with third party purchasing, I recommend getting this guy to fit in with your masterpiece collection.

Daca Toys Kronos aka not jet fire.

I was a bit hesistant about getting this guy as I have seen alot of reviews and people complaining about the QC issues with him. I must admit that I almost didn't make the purchase but as I found him locally I decided to have a look at him for myself. Inhand he is just massive! Size comparisons next to MP10 and MP01 are just crazy....like Godzilla crazy!?! I did find his transformation flimsy and easy-to-break like but I enjoyed it compared to your traditional hastak transformation. If you have been on the fence about getting him, I recommend it if you are a masterpiece collector as he goes well with this line also.

I got X-Transbots Ollie too. Looks fantastic but not sturdy or heavy enough. His plastic is paper thin. I was terrified I'd snap something when folding the backpack past his shoulders.

I probably won't be transforming him back to alt mod ever unless I can find a way to safely get past those shoulders.

The first figure for Guardia arrived today from TFIdu. Axle looks a little gangly in robot mode but that is to be expected for someone who turns into a bike. Bike mode looks awesome though, very realistic. I cannot wait for the rest of them.

The first figure for Guardia arrived today from TFIdu. Axle looks a little gangly in robot mode but that is to be expected for someone who turns into a bike. Bike mode looks awesome though, very realistic. I cannot wait for the rest of them.

I was considering getting the torso upgrade for menasor given his high waist. But I found by mistransforming him.... rotate the waist so the wheels are on the front of the thighs and bring the 'crotch plate' down you can really even out his proportions.

I thought perminate A stance was going to be a issue but I would never pose him with his feet together anyway, it feels natural for him to stand like that. The leg still moves forward just not backwards.and at the end of the day he's just standing in my display which is why I have the legs turned around too (taking away the knee joint) if I was playing with him it would be a different story

I wish they'd revisit these figures and "fix"them so the aesthetic would now match their ongoing Transistor figure...just too blocky and stunted. I am after just that Scorpion cassettron but it comes with the blue version , Im not about to fork out that much for another Not- Blaster ;P

Got my Sphinx today, nothing really against it, I'm just at the point where i have a bunch of stuff due the next few months but my collecting plan has changed, so I'll probably look at selling it, and maybe a couple other things.

I found the alt mode pretty cool, nice paint job and logos etc, pretty cool transformation, head just not wuite right but much much much better than invisible.

He is a freaking top figure, bot mode looks great he is about the same size as CW Megs. And they have engineered it quite well with minimal kibble on him, which is a quiet clever. As with most triple changers is a trade off. The alt mode truck looks great as well, the chrome really sets him off. The plane mode is just as good, but just the tail of him looks weird, but still worth the money if you want him. All plastic no diecast but a great figure to fill in the decepticons with the MP's.

Picked up the DX9 D04 upgrade kit which makes Evasion mode Optimus look like God Ginrai.

Whilst I like the Evasion prime transformation, I tend to display my figs in bot mode and he has no place on my shelf as aside from a couple of leader OPs, I'm not too much of a fan of Bayformers. He just looks too puny next to other figs so when I heard of this kit, I immediately thought of this.

My first new toy for the year (technically I got him at the end of last year, but I opened him this year) Sunsurge!

And so far 2016 in toys seems to be starting of on a high note as he is pretty awesome. Once again Badcube go higher than their previous release. Quality is MP level, but what I really like is the transformation, it's daunting at first with many steps but their a meticulous attention to details in making sure everything locks together, it becomes richly rewarding (for me anyway). It does have the signature Badcube joints attached to joints, but they are a lot easier than on Wardog. I'm also a huge fan of the way the chest and torso come together, the fake windshield is an understandable turnoff for some, but for me the way he transforms from a very rectangular sport car to a thin sleek robot is like a slice of cartoon morphing magic the same way Badcubes Wardog changes for a huge tank to a smaller MP car size robot.

The back of the robot mode is the weakest link in the toy, and while it doesn't look pretty, everything is compressed and the backpack is no bigger than on MP Sideswipe, it also hides the car windshield pretty well.

Overall highly impressed and would recommend to anyone who wants an unofficial MP Sunstreaker and is not turned of by faking the chest, and a bit of complexity in transformations.

Man he is bulky! I love that he is bigger than the Maketoys combiners but the weight and bulkiness of the limbs really make posing him difficult.

Went on a spending spree couple of weeks ago, and it's started coming in, I decided to jump on the maketoys remaster series (where fanstoys isnt applicable, ie not visualiser or gundog cos i want willies and spotter). I'd previously pre ordered Cupola but cancelled because of pricing error, but decided to grab it and man, he was the first to arrive on friday and i love it, good heft, great looking, havent even transformed just played with the headmaster, then gave him the guns and on the shelf. Makes me more excited for Ironeill and the things they have planned (Pointblank, Crosshairs (targetmastera), Hydra and Buster (dreadwind and darkwing, powermasters). Head, target, and especially powermasters are probably my favourite TF's, as when i was younger i actually saw more of masterforce than the original g1 cartoon.

Also on friday, maketoys wrestle showed up at work (on my day off), so I brought him home last night. He seems good so far, he's back in the blister untransformed for now until i rearrange my display, but the colours are good, the difference is hardly noticeable except the head, but I'll be trying the different faces because the stock one doesnt really do much for me. I might post some pics withother MP's/3Ps but i'll also bring it to any group tdidownunder pickup that's organised for like ironwill, ironhide, stomp etc if people wanna check it out in Brisbane to help decide about hellfire, or whether to chase wrestle down themselves. Hopefully purple grenadier should show up today, and PE hands/feet for Menasor. Besides that I think everything else is preorder :-(

Cool, Im thinking of that kit too Jazz.. can you post up more pics and poses of Devy... the PE kit is good but leaves the thread wheels of scavenger and bonecrasher just hanging there unsupported so when your moving the arms they tend to split every now and then... not sturdy in gestalt form...plus the wrist tend to be loose and doesnt hold the gun well coz the wrist to limp down from the weight.

Same here, I watched peaugh's vid yesterday of the x2toys one, I like it a lot when posing normally, not a fan of the shoulders. I've handled the sdcc one, still waiting on mine but I'm actually pretty happy with it, I'm still tossing up about getting one, but if someone released a cab for mixmaster alone i'd just snap that up in an instant.

As for acquisitions, I saw tesla up for grabs on tfi's facebook a while ago,and thought oh well, why not, but I missed out. So when the last ebay sale was about to end i bit the bullet just for curiosity, and so glad I did, it arrived early last week actually, and I immediately changed the blue parts, the eyes are the only thing a little off for me, maybe too hollow looking but he's great! Same day Fanstoys Grenadier (purple) arrived and pretty happy with him, changed to the clear chest, he's my least fav insecticon so looking forward to the other 2 even more now. Just need to track down some decepticon logo stickers as it's becoming increasingly needed when i look at my shelf (Apollyon, Quakewave, grenadier, soon the other 2 insecticons, spotter, hydra and buster from maketoys... etc).

Yes, they did send replacements. But they are not much better, so the nail polish is going to be applied. I was looking at the X2toy one and thought I would stick with PE. But your right about the cab it is great.

MT Wrestle recently arrived and overall i'll give it 7/10, transformation, look, finish is up there and one of better bots around, but on mine the tad loose foot ball joints and the tad loose soft ratchet on one shoulder lets it down.

Both can be sorted with polish but well wished i didn't need to, seems to be the norm with most toys today..

I've got boost, hatch and arkose coming next month the only thing I'm concerned about it the about of parts flexing boost and hatch have during transformation.

I'm hoping they're made of some good quality plastic.

I've watched vids of all 3, beachcomber looks ok but I'm not keen on it anymore, however I'm super keen to pick up boost and hatch now, was going to during aliexpress birthday sale but other things came up. The transformation worries me too but I'll probably only do it once, or if they're shipped as robot maybe never (like apolyon). Its a bit worrying when the arkose reviewer had a piece or two falling off and was just like "eh, thats xtransbots...." shame really.

As for acquisitions, i got ToyWorld Evila star 06C (astrotrain with purple train and more grey shuttle). It was the cheapest of 06B and 06C and i preferred the shuttle colours anyway. The packaging is great, i mean the construction, styrofoam etc, have only transformed from train to shuttle so far and its displayed it shuttle for now, but the instructions are a bit iffy and i had to consult peaughs vid to get it there. Lots of panels lines/gaps but its fine apart from the one on the nosecone, wish that could've been done better/flush/smoother.

So far I'm liking the Hades (not-Liokaiser) combiner, my only gripes are some fiddly transformation (which isn't a big deal once one gets the hang of it), two of the boxes being dented (well they are nice boxes), the instructions for these two being folded in half in the box (the first two weren't and the fold puts a crease through the nice picture on the instruction sheet), and not-Leozack is missing one of his heels (which will be sent out to me asap).
All in all pretty minor gripes, honestly when those are the things one has to complain about then things are looking pretty good imo

Stomp is def worth it, 1.5kg of plastic/diecast goodness. a vast improvement over their previous work from a build standpoint, the joints doesn't squeak like crazy and transformation is kept pretty simple.

Honestly, I was waiting impatiently for it and disappointed at every delay... and then hearing things online I was dreading getting him in the end. I'll say the car looks good, and I was warned by someone that the transformation was ... crap ... The arms coming out etc. was all good, legs were ok, but then getting to putting the chest together wow, soft plastic and trying to get it all to go together right was a nightmare. The head/neck/bit underneath the neck is just a nightmare, two pieces tabbing separately into the chest quite loosely. You have to squeeze him together while you adjust the head or it'll just come loose again.

Also I think my head was slightly mis-assembled. I haven't taken it apart to change the head, but it doesn't sit quite straight. He looks ok enough in robot mode, has grown on me despite his chin being level with the top of his chest. His legs don't seem to want to twist outwards so they're straight on all the time, and though he has an ankle tilt, it doesn't really work. He's a head or more taller than MP sideswipe, and there's 3 (maybe 4) different yellows with different plastics, plus paint, plus paint over black, but that's not an issue for me. The main bit is the joints just not being good (ie ankle, hips, neck), and trying to get the back plate sitting flush with the back of the car with the soft plastic.

Also, the front wheels are screwed on, not pinned, this is a big WTF for me, they both fell off during transformation and you can't really get in there, you'd have to kinda angle something in to push on the screw and try and keep it from moving/turning and then screw the wheel on. At the moment i've left them off because he's in robot mode behind red alert, tracks and smokescreen so you can't see. Also in car mode the wheels stick out past the arches, if they were in like the MP lambos it would be heaps better.

Overall, looks good enough on the shelf for me, I wanted a red sunstreaker and possibly a police version for my MP diaclone shelf, but that plan is out the window unless I find badcubes sentinel blaze discounted, and then it will be in car mode only (no offence to people who like it, but I just can't get over the chest/body of badcubes take on sunstreaker).

as for my purchase, this completes the trio or insecticons, also an additional 3P cassettron... very poor quality IMO, the should revisit this figure and make some changes, add a bit of metal to it

haven't posted much lately as been busy working on a side project which was finally wrapping up and my piece arrived, a custom shapeways warbotron chest plate for the WB-03 Computron combiner.

The result turned out pretty nice and originally started this simply due to myself wanting a custom piece for the combiner, but in the end we threw it up on shapeways so if anyone else wanted they can get one as well.

I think one is enough for me s he is hard on the wallet even at Premium Collectibles awesome price he's probably my most expensive toy, only the VF4 comes close.

Black Zarak would be awesome, though I just wanted some sort of G1 Scorponok related toy, always liked him better than Fort Max.

Finally got these lot together, looks spot on to the studio ox design, for the most part it is really solid for such a large build.

However there are minor design choices/issues, the waist tilt being one as by including that function the top half of the torso will always have a slight tilt to the front or back given it is a ratchet design.

This one is likely one of those bad luck scenario but the ratchet spring in the right elbow was too strong, as a result on a recent bending of the arm the inner plastic holding the ratchet in place bend and nearly snapped...

End up fixing by replacing with a weaker spring so it still holds & ratchet well and doesn't stress out the plastic too much.

Despite some hiccups overall this is still a great combiner, just need to be aware of the gotchas... :)

Picked up Unique Toys Buzzing the other day. It is one of the most solid TFs I own. No issues at all. Not one.

Except for the Targetmaster being absolute garbage.

Forgot to add that I got a KO MP-10 BAPE red last month. QC isn't quite as nice as my green version although it does have the correct shoulders (ie: no sculpted Autobot logo as the Bathing Ape exclusives are based off the MP-10B Black Convoy mold).

How do you find the X-transbot new minibots? I've been tempted by them, but my experience with Xtransbots past toys has been decidedly lacking, with fragile toys that aren't much fun to transform.

How do you find the X-transbot new minibots? I've been tempted by them, but my experience with Xtransbots past toys has been decidedly lacking, with fragile toys that aren't much fun to transform.

I was a bit skeptical because Apollyon while he looks nice I refuse to transform him.

Arkose was less than pleasing to transform due to hinge on the engine being glued stuck and some parts flexing on the legs.

Boost and hatch were pretty enjoyable and once you work out the engineering on the arm it's quite easy. The only bit I found hard was getting the underside of the bonnet over boost's head. Oh and the plastic feels like it's going to snap in a few places but it doesn't, not even a stress mark so they are using a good strong plastic.

mixed feelings if I had to be honest a few cringing moments too many for my likings but they look great with my masterpiece collection and that's all that matters to me:)
