Omnigonix Spinout, I cancelled my PO on him coz the execution of this figure is SH%"*! basically, but he looks so good when in steady poses. Shame really... but I got him at reduced price so I bought it. :)

MP Reximus Prime - aka Oversized Grimlock... finally! proper sized IMO, has got everything the original has , silvery colored , the chrome isn't flaky too. Quite heavy and bulky, plus his light up feature stays on until you press the switch again to turn it off. I didn't notice the chomping action on the original but I did on this one, so I checked the original MP grim as soon as I came back and yep , MP Grim has a chomping action as well albeit weak...one gripe, the tail parts are loose in bot mode and tend to flop, I can live with that. he stays in Dino mode anyways and is immune to Wheelie's attacks, unlike MP Thundercracker lol

Then there are these guys. they're big figures, I had to get them out of packaging or else I wont fit anything in my luggage...I only wish... they made all 5 as such, they are the foil to my BA Engineer General:D

2 of the oversize KO Combiner Wars Powerglide figures.

The plastic quality is pretty good, the design is just as great as the CW figure (a favourite of mine from recently releases) and he's the perfect size in 'bot mode to stand next to MP Bumblebee.

A little loose (a clear band is currently keeping his wing assemblies vertical in robot mode) but very worthwhile as a MP stand in, particularly given the recent trend for more animation-type MP figures.

Oh, and the unpainted MP-5 Megatron that Lena is currently selling on eBay. A nice curiosity for the money.

That FT Hound looks great.

How do you find the transformation, I've heard he is a little bit difficult to transform. The only thing that really stayed my hand from ordering one.

Not to bad, it is difficult in some parts as the instructions are not to clear. But if you take your time it totally works well. I recommend ordering this if Has/Tak aren't going to do one.

Looks great in display mode although he could have been a little taller I think. But looks great on the MP shelf. :)

Oh wow! What is the plastic & joint quality like?

I'm not a fan of KO's (and resizing is a pretty dark shade of grey), but that scale really appeals to me..

He's very light-weight and doesn't have much heft to him. He feels similar in weight to my Animated Grimlock who is a bit smaller.

Plastic is pretty good from what I can see with nice silver paint. Joints are pretty good on mine, nice and tight but I don't have problems moving it around.

I say KO and pointless resizing. He was KOed ino that size to fit chug toys but the toy itself is too cartoon inspired so it look off/awkward with chugs.

Maketoys Despotron. He's a bit chunkier than what I thought but feels solid and holds poses well. I love the headsculpts. I've included a comparison with G1 megs for scale.

his right one is a little loose, but nothing that impedes being able to pose him. he doesn't flop over because of it.

Just gotten Willis by fantoys and I really like it.

But it also open my eyes to see why TT may not be so keen on doing hound mp.
The issue is that in jeep mode it is bigger scaled than mp cars, bust as not mode it's perfect. This will be by far one of the hardest things TT will try and balance.

If this is the quality of what fantoys are providing I am definitely pumped to see their jetfire when released.

I think all 3 look fine front on and can be part of any display, play-ability is whole different thing though.

I'll be keeping Apollyon for alt mode, mostly because he comes with attachments lol

I do like how Mightron collapses in the legs/arms to bulk up etc, that's a really cool idea I think, but I don't like the back kibble (not that you'll generally see it - stupid I know, but it bothers me all the same, Despotron is so much cleaner all round). I guess the square-ness of the shins bothers me too

Currently I'm leaning towards getting Despotron for bot display but still need to get over the slight chunkiness, and that split in the chest. I'd prefer if I could put a large Decepticon insignia on the chest (like Apollyon/Mightron) but it's not possible :(

I think the only thing stopping me from getting Despotron atm is the fact that there was the leak for the possible Megatron 2.0 coming out "soon"

this figure is amazing so many fixes made to the original , light up headlights and guns. die cast bonnet, roof and spoiler, articulated hands (but they cant hold the gun properly as the hand has no notch for the gun tab)

They should've done the original in this size actually..comes with two hand guns. no symbol, used a stock sticker symbol.

Hmm what could I say that hasn't already been said on all the reviews online, it is a very impressive piece, it's super heavy and very non KFC and I agree with pretty much what's echo in the online reviews

If u weren't told or aware of who made it you wouldn't guess its a KFC product, it's well made and they stay true to the minimal toon accurate style of saber

You def should do the ratchet mod on star saber before combining

Its a fantastic stand in until one day Takara decides to make one. For now I'll just wait for KFC's annonced extras pack which will have some new ratchet joints for Saber and a better scaled chrome blade piece

I had a quick look at Andras and Curse. No transforming though lol. They are lighter than I thought they'd be. A good thing I guess. Love that batteries come installed for the lasers in hover mode

Iron Factory's Lord Scorpion finally arrived, its their largest bot yet and to be honest i thought it was gonna be larger lol

It is extremely well made and on par with some of the best of IF bots.

Look wise while it is based on the comic version, its prob the most G1 toon looking triple changer Scorponok around, bot mode, base mode and Scorpion mode all included.

Got Toyworlds Not dirge Requiem today , this is the nicest plane in my collectin. without stand its the exact same height as mp11 on its stand. and as this thing has proper feet it stands quite well on its own.

I'd be curious to know what their main influence was, but we will probably never know unless somebody does an interview or whatever.

I wonder if there is a Sunbow sheet somewhere that can show us the Rebirth version with his full colors, rather than the simplified version you get in far away shots - and some close ups like that box there where his ears are black rather than orange, but then a few seconds later they are orange again (same thing you saw with the simplified gestalts whenever they merged, less lines, less colors, details etc = faster to animate / cheaper).

I must say that he went together a lot easier than Quantron did. Not-Hotspot had a few difficulties until I You Tubed a video which informed me to trim a few tabs (something I am always nervous about doing on such an expensive toy), after that everything went together smoothly. I am very impressed and happy with him, Defensor was always my favourite combiner so I wanted him to be good and I was not disappointed. I like him as much as I like my Green Giant 61. Kudos to Maketoys.

I got my yesmodel ramjet on Tuesday. It's so very solid and all tabs together really well, and doesn't shake apart when you pick it up in bot mode. More than i can say for my takara version

I must say that he went together a lot easier than Quantron did. Not-Hotspot had a few difficulties until I You Tubed a video which informed me to trim a few tabs (something I am always nervous about doing on such an expensive toy), after that everything went together smoothly. I am very impressed and happy with him, Defensor was always my favourite combiner so I wanted him to be good and I was not disappointed. I like him as much as I like my Green Giant 61. Kudos to Maketoys.

To me the wings look a little off compared to the takara version, but they sure as crap are a lot better in hand than has/tak versions

The toyworld is the most solid , then bb7 and then a long way back in the pack are the has/tak floppy buggers . I really do wish the has/tak ones were the best to hold but they just arent

I grabbed GT-J4ZZ from Robotkingdom at the beginning of the month.

It's an interesting figure. It feels more like an updated Alternator than a Masterpiece, not necessarily in a bad way as I feel that the search for cartoon accuracy has meant that Masterpiece figures are more and more afraid of being actual transforming robot toys.

No MAJOR QC foibles but there are three loose pin joints on mine - the upper arm bicep joint is loose on both arms and the right side car door is loose and flaps around in robot mode.

If I can figure out how to fix those I doubt I'll put this figure down for a long time - it's a real winner otherwise.

Other than that, playing the waiting game for ocular max trailbreaker/hoist, kfc octane, maketoys jazz and badcube swerve. Things on my list are xtb arkose, ace tumbler, and if slick/swerve is any good I might grab gears. Still wondering if I should hunt down an Andras and Eligos, or wait for fanstoys/takara to tackle them (doubt it though).

Wow that's a lot of pre-orders, I'm only waiting on a handful, I prefer not to pre-order till they release pics of the finished product. That said now that Sovereign is out he is starting to look tempting. What is he like to transform? I love the look of Fanstoys products but some of the transformations have not appealed to me personally so much. With so much competition around these days it's fun to shop around to find the best toy for my own tastes.

Really like the look of them. Alt mode works ok but really got them for the bot mode which works great as Mario and Luigi. Quite clever how the legs fold up to get 2 different heights for the bots. Only gripe are the feet aren't as stable given they are a bit back heavy but they can be positioned for quite a number of stable poses.

Random find today, went to check out the new Miniso variety store in Chatswood and managed to pick up a KO oversized ( I think ) Powerglide from combiner wars series I believe. Haven't had a chance to open it up but it looks to be the size of MP Bumblebee. Looks pretty good for $5, should be a good filler till a better 3P one comes about

Got my robot hero OS mp11 yesterday
This thing is huge and heavy and has many improvements to the mp11 mold.
Has proper hands with individual articulated fingers.
The chest flaps dont move around when you move its arms, as they added a post for them to tab to. It has the mp03 panel lines and the best paint job ive seen on ANY seeker. This is without a doubt the best seeker in my collection
Better than the has/tak ones and better than the bb7 or toyworld ones i have.
The tab at the bottom of the chest is longer, the die cast part has ridges to help with sturdyness
Now i wish all my seekers were like this

Got Ocular Max Hoist/Trailbreaker over the past two weeks, not too impressed, but they'll do their job. Trailbreaker will go back to being displayed in vehicle mode, he's great. Hoist however has a floppy foot, floppy wheels (where they attach, that wont stay extended at the front, wont stay vertical at the back, keep coming out).

Am nearing the end of my masterpiece collection, I said I'd stop at 1985 but I'm already breaking that by getting hot rod, ultra magnus, fanstoys sovereign and a couple of minibots (tailgate, pipes), and ordering fanstoys sixshot, kup, kfc octane... probably going to grab uniquetoys blurr unless there's another one in the works, not a fan of the vehicle but robot is fine. Then have to worry about scaling.

Looking very much forward to fanstoys jetfire and blitzing !

The floppy foot seems to be widespread, though the wheels on mine are fine. I have to agree that the toy is not quite as tight as I would like, but it sure does evoke the feel of the original toy both visually and tactile.

have you transformed Fanstoys Sovereign much? I'm quite tempted but the feedback I hear on transformation on some Fanstoys products seems to be difficult with a chance of injury. Sovereign looks great, but I'm not going to sign of on him unless the transformation is reasonably fun.

And a FansProject Not-Quickswitch. I was going to get the official Titans Return one but it just being a redeco of Sixshot with a new head just doesn't cut it IMO.

I may also pick up a WST Sixshot tomorrow, I haven't decided yet.

I had that experience the first time the institutions are a bit worthless when it comes to the leg. You have to stretch out to get the clearances right then put it back together again. Once I worked it out and did it the second and subsequent times it worked a charm though. Mine locks up fine every transformation since.

While the legs are a bit tricky, I enjoy the top half transformation so much I can get by it. Overall I'm smitten this is my favourite rendition an Autobot car by a 3rd party. If I didn't know there was an official Megatron coming out, I'd be buying Maketoys version based on the strength of this toy.

Can't wait for Contact Shot.

I think the Badcubes version of Hoist and Trailbreaker still looks a lot better. Granted transformation a pain in the butt, but when in bot mode, they are spot on to screen accuracy. I felt MMC lost their way in these two of theirs unlike Mirage they did so well.

I thought the plastic quality on the original Impossible Toys Quints was pretty mediocre. so if these are as good, $15 is a pretty good price. I just ordered 2.

I think which one looks better is a subjective thing. I'm quite a fan of both companies but Badcubes version of those characters were just to busy for me around the legs, lots of unsightly kibble going everywhere. As much as I like Fantoys, but I think KFC kind of really balanced out in all of the modes with the least compromised. But I am yet to see the Fantoys one on hand.

Without seeing fanstoys I think Gewalt is better than kfc's Ditka, the dark tan colour they use really ruins the G1 toon aesthetics for robot mode.

I'm ok with the Tan colour I'm of the same opinion as drifand that Ditka gets it right in the most modes, and the tan colour lends a great deal of realism to his tank mode while his plain looking mostly purple bot mode fits with current MP conventions.

Gerwalt doesn't quite cut it for me, his tank mode is too poor which for me is a deal breaker. Fanstoys looks like it could be good, but we'll have to wait longer and likely pay more to get him, so not sure.

Got Fanstoys Grinder...not Grimlock yesterday. Is everything I would expect from a Grimlock. Lots of issues i had with Mp Grim are fixed. Like his floppy chest and small size. Was originally going to pass on this one. But as I grew my Fanstoys Dinobot collection I realized Mp Grim just was far to small. Glad I did the upgrade.

the tank mode is pretty much perfect. the Jet mode is G1 amazing (if silly just like the g1)

but the bot mode is weak mine has good knees and the metal fins are good but its just WAY to back/top heavy and posing this thing is a struggle.

yeah i have mpp10, mpp10b mpp10w and mpp10eva

mpp10 is an amazing figure , apart from the metal chest and the better/different bits on the legs its just a big mp10

M01 well thats a whole different thing, big chunks of die cast on the cab, an interesting transformation, the modifications they made to the figure before they up sized it are amazing. truck modes are pretty much the same thing as mpp10 (same same but different ) as in they turn into the same flat faced truck, but the bot modes are night and day different.
the quality is right up there with the best of them, nice strong ratchets. there are some clearance issues when it comes to transformation unless im doing things a bit wrong. but all together its fantastic and hasbro should be contracting weijang to make their figures for them.

mpp10 is an amazing figure , apart from the metal chest and the better/different bits on the legs its just a big mp10

M01 well thats a whole different thing, big chunks of die cast on the cab, an interesting transformation, the modifications they made to the figure before they up sized it are amazing. truck modes are pretty much the same thing as mpp10 (same same but different ) as in they turn into the same flat faced truck, but the bot modes are night and day different.
the quality is right up there with the best of them, nice strong ratchets. there are some clearance issues when it comes to transformation unless im doing things a bit wrong. but all together its fantastic and hasbro should be contracting weijang to make their figures for them.

Opened up my FT-04X Scoria, FT-05X Soar and FT-08X Grinder tonight. Man these are awesome. Haven't transformed them yet but I'm just in awe of their bot modes and their heft. What a start to (selective) 3P collecting!

One minor annoyance though was missing paint apps on the front and back of Scoria's left shoulder (the red part connected to the chest). It's missing the grey paint that's on the right shoulder. I've emailed Fanstoys about it but more as feedback to them since I don't think there is much that they will be able to do for it since you can't just replace that part.

pretty much everything

every joint is better, its not a floppy mess, the transformation is different, the paint doesnt fall off, it has diecast feet, it cleans up a lot better than the old one. its night and day better than the first one (which i still have but is now perma altmode)

Also picked up Mech Fan Toys MF-08 Ultrl Magenus. Looks awesome in robot mode but vehicle mode is a bit disappointing. The wheels don't even turn.

I snagged the Nemesis Prime repaint of Wei Jiang Commander on the weekend.

For $85 it's probably the best value I've gotten out of any transformers purchase. It's massive, full of die cast, well engineered and beautifully painted.

Received my Magten KO MP-36 yesterday. This has been the silvered coloured Megs I've been looking for (to replace my Apollyon). Absolutely love the silver chrome and it looks great next to me TT MP-10

One of the main reasons I didn't replace him earlier was because I didn't like the grey of the official MP-36. THF's was close but this one was/is just perfect (for me). Also (possibly due to it being an official repaint) it already has Decepticon tampos. As far as I can tell they all look aligned correctly.

I still can't get over the silver though, it's awesome. The red inside of the legs is really nice too. Everything is very metallic looking. (edit: just looking at my photo, wondering if I'm missing a screw on the inside leg panel o_O? ) Bonus is that is also comes with G1 Toy face / chest :) + plastic gun stand. Unfortunately there is no back panel but I can live without it.

Regarding the joints, they are ok, better than an official I would say, not sure compared to THF or IT ones though. I'm waiting for the IT one as a toon accurate version ( for whenever they release a v3 toon Optimus :p )

I'm not sure if it has english voice clips yet (no batteries lol) and I haven't yet had time to try and transform him but here's some quick pics I took from on my phone.

Recieved delivery of Fansproject LER-07 Pinchar (w/ Lepida) - “Snarl” - today, finally completing my not-Dinobots team. Been a long time coming and nearly gave up hope that these would ever be done.

He’s a bit more simple than the others, able to be transformed at ease without instructions. Some joints and limbs are a bit looser than previous LER releases too. Wondering if they cut a few corners in order to finally release him. He does, however, fit the overall design aesthetic of the rest of the team and overall is a pretty solid toy. Very happy to have him.

There was a year when they seemed to be doing really well with the Headmasters, Dinobots and Dinoforce announcements in one go. However they seemed to have been really quiet with releases/announcements and slow with releases in the past few years.

My one also came in the mail today. I've heard good things about this figure and I felt TR Voyager Galvatron was a let down.

Plus, the TR version won't be tall enough to go up against PotP Rodimus Prime. :)
