Figured I'll take a punt on getting Terrorsaur. The earlier prices he was up for were more than I want to pay for a deluxe but at $44 I'll go it to be a step closer to a complete Beast Wars S1 cast. Just need him to actually post, then gotta get Tigatron and hope they announce an Inferno for the colony

Looks like Amazon are now doing a thing where you don't need Prime for free international shipping, just over a certain price threshold as with domestic items so I threw a couple of Tom Baker Dr. Who dvds I still need in to make up the difference :)

E: and Tarantulus of course

He definitely doesn't look as good as an original mould based on the character to the quality of the other Kingdom Beasties would but it's all very "well this is what they're selling so it's it or nothing" for me

Until the end of March, free shipping on most items over $45 (https://www.target.com.au/help/payment-delivery) (if not over-sized), so this qualifies.

(I just tried two different browsers, but neither one would let me click onto the payment screen after entering in my shipping details... but does let me if I select a store to pick up - maybe its Target's way of not having to pay for shipping by not making it possible to get something shipped.)

The strange thing about Perceptor is that I haven't been seeing it sighted everytime the three Bumblebee Movie toys are found overseas (Brawn, Wheeljack, Ratchet), so I wonder if it was like a revision wave that had Perceptor included that only appeared in some places, and was then also included in the next full wave.

The third Golden Disk set is now on Amazon Australia as Australian stock - the truck 2-pack (Puffer and Road Ranger) (https://www.amazon.com.au/Hasbro-Transformers-Generations-War-Cybertron/dp/B08YK51RKT/), for $75.

I already have Terrorsaur, but it would be really good to see it make it as well. (probably not for those who spent a fortune getting it from overseas already)

Also on Amazon Australia as Australian stock is some of the new wave of Studio Series - Ratchet (https://www.amazon.com.au/Transformers-Studio-Ratchet-Multicolour-F3163/dp/B09H1JNJRW/) and Brawn (https://www.amazon.com.au/Transformers-Studio-Brawn-Multi-F3172/dp/B09H1XCSNV/). The wave mates Wheeljack and Perceptor are either sold out already, or not yet up.
Significantly different prices for Ratchet and Brawn, which is weird and annoying.

Meanwhile, the Studio Series grey NEST Bumblebee jeep (https://www.amazon.com.au/Transformers-Studio-Bumblebee-Multi-F0922/dp/B09F4ZJXPJ/) is back up again as Australian stock, after disappearing (again) last week... still saying out of stock, but allows you to "purchase" one (and then leaves it in limbo on your orders page).

Meanwhile, several items are currently about half price on Amazon Australia (Australian stock items).
Kingdom Ark (https://www.amazon.com.au/TRANSFORMERS-Generations-Cybertron-Kingdom-Collectible/dp/B08XBS2S33/) - $179
Kingdom Rodimus (https://www.amazon.com.au/TRANSFORMERS-Generations-Cybertron-Kingdom-Commander/dp/B08TLQ26D5/) - $89
Kingdom Tricranius (https://www.amazon.com.au/Transformers-Generations-Cybertron-Tricranius-Dinosaur/dp/B08YJZ758N/) - $32
Crossover X-men (https://www.amazon.com.au/Transformers-Generations-Collaborative-Ultimate-X-Spanse/dp/B08GQ5RG8D/) - $65 (sold by a 3rd party)
Rescue Bots big Hotshot (https://www.amazon.com.au/Playskool-Transformers-Academy-Converting-Collectible/dp/B083QZLZWR/) - $25

All the Hong Kong retailers seemed to have received only cases with all 4 characters (Perceptor included). I initially found it strange that both Popcultcha and Gamesmen had Wheekjack, Brawn and Ratchet in stock but without Perceptor, so I wondered if the AU cases were packed differently. Gamesmen did eventually have Perceptor in stock (then restocked) but they sold out very quickly (I did manage to get him). It "felt" as if Hasbro AU was opening up the cases and supplying the characters individually to the smaller hobby retailers (I of course know that this wouldn't be likely...)

I think the online sightings topic might have been started before Amazon really started selling Transformers here, so it was given its own topic later, and then there was overlap expected, as some people only shop online (particularly recently during covid).

I do keep seeing people posting in one topic something that is already just posted in the other one, without noticing it, but for now it can be okay.

Yes, more than in-store retail, but remember that Amazon charges more to cover shipping for most of their purchases, so if you are getting "free shipping" take off about $10, and it is really a $48 toy. (free is not really free, because someone still has to pay for it)

For those still yet to get Kingdom Blaster, the Legacy re-release has now been added to Amazon Australia (https://www.amazon.com.au/TRA-GEN-Legacy-Voyager-Blaster/dp/B09H1G7XH1/), with the May 8th release date of most of the rest of wave 1. It is currently priced at $53.
Since it is in the first wave with Bulkhead, it should show up at regular retail stores as well, at about the same price, but this is an option for those wanting to make sure that they get one, or don't have a cheaper retailer near them.

Meanwhile, the Studio Series grey Bumblebee NEST jeep has been cancelled again by Amazon Australia. It was cancelled a couple months ago and then re-listed, and now it has just been cancelled again.

Looking over the Amazon Australia pre-order links for Legacy (https://www.facebook.com/ozformers/posts/4772664986105515), it looks like only Skids and Arcee are still available. Everything else from Deluxe to Leader appears to have sold out... and the product page for Leader Laser Optimus has been completely removed, so I don't know what is going on there. Did anyone who pre-ordered Laser Optimus from AA have any notifications about its release date?

$39 for Deluxe, $49 for Voyager.

Prices have risen a lot in America in the last year, so having them passed on here was expected, particularly while our exchange rate continues to slowly slide (making imports more expensive).

I'm just surprised that we haven't seen a huge rise in Voyagers too, because both Deluxe and Voyager RRP in America have risen the most...

Core - - - 12 (was 10)
Deluxe- - 25 (was 17)
Voyager- 34 (was 25)
Leader- - 56 (was 45)
Cmder - - 90
Titan - - - 200 (previous Titan was 179)

When you consider that our RRPs have often been a simple doubling of the US prices (except Deluxe, as that is the most popular price point so the margin doesn't need to be as big), the Voyager price point is looking like it could have a big increase here soon.

(the inside word is that BigW might be increasing their Voyager price to $60 soon, so if the first wave is released at $49 for a little while first, jump on them)

Not sure why, but the Deluxe listing has been removed.

The voyager listing is still there, and allows for a search of stores, but none had stock yet.

I would note that Kmart's online 'find in store' feature is borderline useless - I use it for tracking Lego releases and a lot of the time the items are either in stock and on the shelf (we're talking 20+ copies) but show as out of stock online. Or vice versa, says in stock (fully green, not low stock) and they cancel your order because it's out of stock.

In other words, you can expect the items to show up in the store ahead of the online thingy saying they are...most of my Studio Series figures I've bought from Kmart were from when they were 'out of stock' lol...

True, true. What I find most useful with these stock indicators (Kmart, Target, Big W) is change. So if it goes from "no stock" to "in stock", then that's a better indication that stock is available. Speaking of which, Kmart stock indicator for Cores has changed to "in stock" for some Sydney and Melbourne shops today, and Lint found Legacy in Melbourne, so it might be worth going on a hunt.

None for Mildura either. Would like that sale price ($75)...

I wonder if it's a slight online stuff up anyway - Sludge has been removed already, and the indication of it being a 'sale' price has changed too. Would also explain why there's only Elita-1 and no one else.

Plus, Elita and Galvatron will deliver, but Blitzwing won't. So it's all a bit silly...! Maybe give it a couple of days and things will show up properly.

I too saw Sludge before it disappeared. But the best thing is that wave 1 Legacy Leaders, Deluxes and Voyagers, and bits of wave 2, are showing up at JB (and at competitive sale prices), which means that JB is serious about TF toys. More options for collectors is a good thing. Heck, Motormaster might even appear at JB once Big W has finished its turn. The other great thing going for JB is individual online listings.

Yep, Blitzwing gone too, leaving Elita-1. There should be more wave 2s and Sludges coming soon to JB stores, and their stock checker is not perfect. However, I had a chat to a staff member once about TF toys and he told me that JB buys a batch then doesn't restock as TFs don't sell quickly compared to their other products. I've noticed this too in several JBs - they don't restock. But, given that wave 2 is now floating around, I'm waiting to see if they turn up for the Big W and Myer sales, which end 13 and 17 July respectively. My local Big W sold Legacy well, and might restock with wave 2.

JJJ
2nd July 2022, 01:44 PM
Well that's interesting, because my Big W is currently down to 1 Galvatron, 1 Laser Prime, 2 Bulkheads, and 1 Arcee - all other Legacy stock (there were at least 3 each of the leaders, 6 commanders, and a case or two of deluxes, not sure about the voyagers) has vanished in the last week and a half.

A re-stock with wave 2 would be marvellous :) A re-stock with wave 2 before the end of the sale would be amazeballs :P

Something interesting to pop up on Amazon Australia - the new Movie Optimus toy that was to be released in October in Cyberverse packaging (https://www.amazon.com.au/Transformers-Bumblebee-Cyberverse-Adventures-Dinobots/dp/B09WXGMGNF/)... for $69, and an unknown release date (it is saying that it is temporarily out of stock, which sometime means it is in-hand within days, and sometimes means that they aren't getting it for a while and just listed it too early).
I ordered one, to see what happens. As I mentioned, it is not supposed to be out until October, so if it shows up hear before that, we could be the first in the world with the first new movie toy.

They also have the new Beast Wars Monopoly for $87 (https://www.amazon.com.au/MONOPOLY-F5269-Transformers-Collectors/dp/B09H1LHTZT/) - a lot more than the Gen1 edition (https://www.amazon.com.au/Monopoly-Transformers-Decepticon-Bumblebee-Grimlock/dp/B08MVTMYRT/) (was about $23-30).
I'm not sure why it is so much more expensive (everywhere it has been listed so far), but now that I can see its product details, I see that it is also a Hasbro release (not a licensed Monopoly set), and is slightly different with its game-play too.
Instead of trading money/cash, you are trading in energon crystals and cubes. And in place of the four "utilities" (the Titans and Planets in the Gen1 game), the Beast Wars game has those squares be "transformation" squares, so that you can swap out your game piece with it's other mode game piece. (I'm not sure if that does anything differently, without seeing the instructions)
It also has character cards, Stasis Pods and a "Golden Disk"... all of which would be in the instructions, but obviously add an extra dimension to the game-play.

The various wave 2 Legacy toys that did NOT have a release date, have been released by Amazon Australia... but it looks like they are being forced to adhere to the release dates of the rest, even though they are already hitting stores that don't care about release dates.

Voyager class Soundwave (https://www.amazon.com.au/TRA-GEN-Legacy-Voyager-Soundwave/dp/B09H1HCJXT/) (clean deco Siege toy) - this one didn't have a release date or pre-order listing, so it was available for purchase a few days ago, which means that Amazon Australia definitely has the case-mate Jhiaxus as well, but while it has a release date of August 15th, they won't risk releasing it early unless instructed to by the supplier (Hasbro).

According to Hasbro Australia, the release of ALL of Legacy wave 2 was supposed to be July 1st, while Studio Series (Sludge, Junkheap, Ironhide, Arcee) was meant to be June-July as well... but it looks like Amazon and EBGames have not been releasing the ones that they had the wrong release dates listed (most are saying August 12-15, with some as late as September).
Retailers that didn't have pre-order listings for Legacy and Studio Series (like Kmart and BigW), or had the correct release dates (like JBHifi), have been selling them already... so I have asked Hasbro Australia to chase up those online sources that didn't release the June/July items as they were supposed to.

Fingers crossed that it happens quickly... not that my credit card will be happy about it, as I have 5 of the expensive ones on pre-order. :p

BTW, the Movie Optimus in Cyberverse packaging was indeed listed too early, as it is still not being released until October as originally planned.

Amazon AU just took money for Sludge so I expect to get notification of this being despatched by next week, while for the others I have on order( pre ordered March and April):

SS Junkheap - Sep 16-19

16-17 AUG for the following
Legacy Blitzwing
Legacy Tarantulas
Legacy Knockout
Legacy Dead end

SS Sludge reached the release date noted by Amazon Australia, so my pre-order was processed... at the discounted price it was sitting at in the last week.

They still haven't fixed any of them yet. I gave them all the names and details, so I was hoping that they would be able to chase that up by the next day, and Amazon would have started processing the orders by the weekend. It's as if they don't want the brand to succeed and make money...

Yeah, but it has already made money for Hasbro. They've sold their stuff to the distributors and/or retailers, so the exact date it sells on a shelf doesn't matter so much to them, does it?

It does for new releases and old stock needing to move. Stores wont buy more stock if old stock remains

Yes, but it's because of this...

Stores wont buy more stock if old stock remains

...and because some of the bigger retailers might have "stock on consignment", which means that they can send it back if they don't sell it, and only pay for what they kept. (keep in mind that big corporations like Hasbro and the national retailers, will often have 3-6 months payment terms... so if they don't sell most of the stock before they had to pay Hasbro for it, they could be allowed to send stock back before they even have to pay for it... and if Hasbro needs them as a customer, they will do whatever the major retailer wants)

So if the second wave was to do really poorly because a lot of us bought from another source who released it 6 weeks earlier, Amazon could end up sending back a lot of stock to Hasbro (who has to then sell it at a loss at somewhere like Reject Shop or TK Maxx), and, purchase less of the next few waves until they clear out the old stock (at a loss by heavily discounting it).

At least if a smaller retailer is stuck with the stock (like JB or EB), they are more likely to keep it and sell it off over the long term... and probably wouldn't have had a huge turnover of stock anyway.

Word back from Hasbro Australia is that they can't change the release dates on those Legacy wave 2 toys... there was something mentioned about a minimum window of release after retail stores, but that didn't make much sense, as we have several wave 2 toys released by Amazon, and they release products all the time that are at the same time or even before they hit retail stores.
I just think that Amazon has these automatic processing dates in the system and they don't want to spent the time checking on each one and changing them (they would probably have to check the release dates of thousands of products... so why not just leave it as it is).

I noticed yesterday on the JB Hifi site, that quite a few new Transformers items (Legacy w2, Studio Series, GIJoe Megatron, BW Monopoly) were noted on their product pages as having a release date of yesterday (July 28th), so even though people had found them in some stores earlier in the week, all of the stores should now be putting out the stock (the Garden City store in Brisbane had their stock still sitting out the back last night yet to be processed, so they wouldn't sell any of it to me).

$45 appears to be what PopCultcha is charging as standard for its deluxes now.

While small, the vehicle mode is definitely on par with other deluxes like SS Jazz and VW Bumblebee with a parts count that would also be consistent with the Deluxe price point. The final figure size was also not significantly smaller than comparable deluxes with maybe half a head difference between it and the various Cliffjumper mould variations.

Yes me too, it makes getting the robot mode even better, adds a little 'wow' or 'cool' factor to it. The robot mode is the prize IMO. It never felt as good opening a figure to already have the robot mode done for you.

Ironhide is $58 now... so they must have fixed it - if it said $45 earlier and you locked in a pre-order at that price, quite a few of us have been assured that they will honour any earlier cheaper pricing (following the Velocitron Scourge pricing error last month).

Speaking of $45 for Deluxes... that just doesn't do it for me. $39 maybe, for a few highly prized figures... but that size class has seen enough shrinkage to make $35 a much better ceiling price.

I think Legacy Leader Megatron has the wrong release date listed, as it says October next year. All of the rest are January next year, and this third wave is supposed to be available for release in October this year, so maybe they meant to say 2022 instead of 2023.

Some posts here would be relevant there more so than here?

After thinking about it for the last few months and watching how both are working, I want to see if it works to have the Amazon topic in the sightings section, as it is like a national retailer that doesn't have it's own state (and has a lot of new and updated items).

This online sightings topic will remain in the dealer section for now (with NO MORE Amazon postings), and will have all of the other online sources that don't have national stores (which would then require sightings to be posted in the various state sightings topics.

A bit of a delay sighting?

My Velocitron Scourge through EbGames has had it's release date move from today until November (as usual, no notification given by EB when this sort of thing happens - they faffed about with the Seacon release dates a bunch of times)

Not complaining too loudly - $60 is a good price, no rush

I was just coming on here to mention that too... I was checking my order online to see if it had been listed as arrived, but it now says November 18th. :(
That's 11 weeks away... I'm tempted to pay the impatience tax and get one from Kmart for the extra $19.

Specifically, from the UK. They aren't an Australian business except in a strictly legal sense (registered here).

Honestly, with the way Brexit is hitting the UK right now (and it won't get any better for years now), I wouldn't be bothering with them.

I guess it is possible that Toyworld already have the stock, as that next wave is supposed to be released in October, so the stock would have to be in the country by now, and we have seen in the past how stock sometimes gets accidentally sent to Toyworld earlier than it should.
It will be interesting to see if they have started sending it out to stores, or if it is just in their main warehouse ready for distributing to stores, and the product page was just put up ready for it.

On Friday I told myself, "those 3 Buzzworthy Deluxe toys will now come out in Australia", because I had just had paid au$53 each for the three from a foreign source and just got the shipping notification that day.
I knew it... I really did... because it happens every time I give up waiting for something to be released here, and pay a little (or a lot) more to get it from somewhere else, and this time I could feel it, that these would show up here as soon as I had paid ($42 more) for them elsewhere. The fact that it was just 2 days later, just makes it even more obvious - if I don't track down an alternative source it won't come here and I miss out, but if I do track down an alternative source it will come here and I will have paid a lot more than I needed to.
At least everyone else benefits from my bad luck... my sacrifice guarantees items coming here for other fans to easily get them.

(http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php/29348-Toy-review-MPM-13-Masterpiece-Movie-Blackout) I paid well over $300 for mine buying from Robot Kingdom, and this is a great price if you want to go for it. I've bought only one item from there, a MOTU Snout Spout, and I am undecided about whether to buy anything further. They took two weeks to post the thing (it was in stock, not on order), and the only explanation I got (and yes, response to my e-mail was also annoyingly slow) was that they forgot. And then it still took a few days to get moving.

Iirc this is a small comic book store's online presence and I do not fault anyone for being weary or having a different attitude, but I know from my own there are passionate, overwhelmed people working there so if it takes a minute for them to send it out then I personally am okay with that.

Would not have guessed that JB HIFI would be an MVP for Transformers collectors, but here we are. Hopefully this stuff keeps selling well and they remain a reliable (if slightly expensive) source.

It's interesting that they're taking the same route as EB and being proactive with changing their sales focus away from physical media for music/games/movies, in to the more supplementary stuff that you can't download - like POP vinyls, toys, boardgames, cool hardware, electric scooters, drones and...er, Vinyl.

I can only see 6 of the 9 Evolution toys listed (https://www.jbhifi.com.au/search?query=transformers&page=1&hitsPerPage=100&sortBy=published_at_desc), missing Needlenose, Soundblaster and Slug - the first two weren't listed on Amazon Australia either, which is a worry if we aren't getting them here, or not having them listed for pre-order.

They do have the Shattered Glass Soundwave and Hero 2-pack, which Amazon Australia didn't have listed (yet).

Soundwave is $114 for November 1st, while the Hero 2-pack is $104, also for November 1st.
Those prices are a bit steep, as the Soundwave pack is a $50 Voyager with 2 $10 Cassettes, while the Hero 2-pack has a $50 Voyager with a $35 Deluxe and added accessories that could be an extra $10. It makes the 2-pack worth a lot more, but is cheaper than Soundwave.

The Evolution toys have a release of February 1st, compared to Amazon Australia's March 18th. (Amazon Australia has to wait 6 weeks before they can release non-exclusives)

It looks like Soundwave and the Hero 2-pack might be delivery only, as they didn't allow for click-and-collect.
Their help page notes that not all pre-orders are available for click-and-collect, and these two may be in that category.
But go to a store first and see if they can pre-order for pickup for you. I was able to do that with the July pre-orders, but a couple of them never arrived at the store, so it can still be a bit hit-and-miss at JB.
(I'm still hoping they show up at EB or Amazon, just to see what Soundwave is at other places, as it shouldn't be any more than $80 here.... and even if the Hero 2-pack is a few dollars more at EB, at least you are saving on the shipping that JB will be charging.)

EDIT - I just saw the post above noting that they are both on the EB site for a LOT more than JB, still making it cheaper to get them posted from JB.
That's a shame the pricing has ended up like that, especially for Soundwave, which might have been based on the Hasbro Pulse price, which is about $10 more than regular fan-channels, because it has the bonus comic included.

As a wholesaler Hasbro can't legally dictate or set retail pricing, but can recommend retail pricing. It is then up to the retailers to set prices based on their desired profit margin and/or compared to their competitor's prices.
I would imagine with these collectable items, the wholesale pricing was wrong (from Hasbro's end), and the prices have just flowed on through the retailers who have calculated the retail price based on what it cost them.

If you brought anything from this sale or have any outstanding preorders from the company you might want to print out your invoices and prepare to have to head down to your local bank branch to file some chargebacks, their site is down and their Facebook and Instagram have been locked with no comunication as to why that happened which are never good signs for the solvency of a company. ...speaking of that lot I spent already, Zavvi still have that Transformers 10% + free shipping coupon, and it applies to the PulseCon reveals. They have all of that wave's voyagers, deluxes and cores there as well as some currently released figures. Not sure if preorders are supposed to be included because the wave with Armada Starscream is not on sale but yeah.
