I havent' been to Kinokunya in ages. I think the last time I was there was late last year when I visited Sydney but only briefly. It's not a conventional bookstore but I love it's location and the upstairs view. Damn me for not remembering it to you! I'm glad you found it though. :)

Their prices are really getting better and better. I remember back in the day when the AUD was about 70c, their stuff was still pretty cheap.

But now she's running absolutely beautiful so I can't complain. :)

Took her for a little drive and her torque, cornering, brakes & suspension is all completely on song! Over the years, she's morphed from a street car into an all-purpose circuit racer & now that she's running this well again... it's extremely tempting to take her down to Wakefield Park for a few laps.

I'd recommend Warhawk if you like online multiplayer games. Dynasty Warriors: Gundam is another goodie (especially if you're a Gundam fan like myself) and Ninja Gaiden although this game is frustratingly hard at times. My last game was Devil May Cry 4 but I've since sold that because I found myself playing online games more often than not. Download Tekken DR Online for one on one action with players around the world. :)

I actually started Ninja Gaiden 2 on 360. Bought the game and the plan was to put it aside till my thesis writing work is done. But was too tempted so I tried it. It sucked me right in and I reached the 2nd level boss in my "trial run"... :o Game is definitely easier than the old one.

Big W actually has some of the sets on clearance so that they are actually cheaper than K-mart even with the 20% percent although you wouldn't know unless you price check them. Mars Mission is actually much better than the pics on the boxes and catalogues would show. Going to grab the Dropship and Eagle Base when I find a K-mart which actually has them. :)

It should be "Neko wa kawaii" (猫は可愛い). The "no" particle is used for possessives, e.g.: "Neko no Enerugon Kyuubu" (猫のエネルゴンキューブ）= 'the cat's Energon Cubes' (^_^)

Very good actually. The drill vehicle can actually be carried by the ship itself and the front cockpit section can detach from the main craft as well. The best aerial based vehicle in the range methinks. If I did have a gripe about it, its that the rear orange pods tend to move around a bit (there's no connector piece for them to attach to the craft itself) but I don't consider it a major issue. Highly recommended - picked mine up at Myers for $48 with their 20% off sale.

went to Dick Smith's and they've got Will & Grace DVDs for around $19+ each season - got me first five. They were the cheapest in price for these - Sanity has em for 30, JBHi-fi has em for buy 2 take 1 but at $32 each.

From JB Hi Fi - Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away DVD for $18 - loved this animated movie ever since I saw it shown on a long bus trip back in Phil's( provincial buses provide passengers entertainment with 1-2 feature videos during the trip).

Well we got a cat cage delivered, you build it yourselves and its big enough for the kitties to run around and exercise.

But!

The company stuffed up royal, 'Catmax' -the company, labelled the parts with crappy stickers. The parts are meant to be colour coded by the stickers. When we opened the box, almost all the stickers were falling off, if not already off.

We ring them, they of course have not care for customer service.
After hours of trying to put it together using logic, it didnt work and the 'Catmax' people were very unhelpful.

They are sending out a man to build it for us, but he sounds like he doesnt know how to either.

$11 each from Toy Kingdom! Absolutely love the packaging despite the waste of space (tho it's not too bad in these boxes as some of the City/Creator ones my little sister n I have done)

Oh, and these Lego are for me exclusively. Main reason I got back into Lego is b/c of my sister but I reckon these mechs are a great branch off and open up a world of possibilities to have my different interests intersect. I built Iron Condor last night and the articulation is astounding for Lego. On top of that the nice colours and "texture" :p of the piece wins me over.

I'm looking to get more but probably only cheap. I have another cool one but it's not upstairs yet so pics won't be till later. :)

Awesome again Fungal. That M-tron car is the largest in that theme isn't it?

Personally I like the challenge of the older instructions. I know missing a part can be frustrating and time consuming if you have to go back many steps to redo but that's part of the challenge. I really think they make it too easy now.

Yup, its the largest in the theme alright. I'm surprised they didn't make a base for the M-trons. Every other theme had a base of some sort - even Space Police got one which was not released in Euro/Australian markets. I'm currently collecting everything space from Blacktron I to Exploriens so expect to see lots of purchases from these themes. :)

Well with all Fungal's fantastic Lego acquisitions lately I just had to get me some. Couldn't decide on what theme so I got a bit from each.
Either the Hoth sets have been re-released or they found a box out the back somewhere but the last time these guys came out I made a small profit by buying them on special at $80 and then getting prices like $130-$150 for them.
You can call it scalping. I don't. I started them at 99cents and the market paid what the market wanted. It's not a veil to hide behind. Just fact.
Got the Castle set for some custom stuff after seeing that cool Inn scene that Jd posted.
Also for those that have an ML interest, first wave of new ML Hulk series is out in Oz (5 of 8 with 3 to follow soon) with build-a-figure being Fin Fang Foom. (should have really been in Iron Man series)

Really stoked about this purchase as it was found at a clearance price at Hobbyco. This set originally retailed at $149 back when it was released and even online now, its $120 minimum shipped. So $89 was a pretty good price methinks. Took me 3 and half hours to complete but it was worth it. Once I get my other sets, I'm going to set up a battle scene with all the mechs. Wifey won't be impressed when I tell her I'm going to use the coffee table in the living room for this though...... :D

The Sith Infiltrator is one of my favourite SWs molds. Loved the SWTF version of it and have always liked the curvy yet pointy balance of the design. I scooped this up for $35 last week! :D :D :D Basically the box was damaged a bit in one corner and I went and looked for the manager to see if they'd lower the price on top of the 20% discount. As I found the manager, someone knocked down a pile of toys next to her. I went over and helped her pick it up and as I helped i just started talking casually to her. As we finished and she thanked me, I asked her if she could do me a favour. I showed her the SW box and then she paused for a moment and then said alright. We went to the one of the lines and she told the guy at counter to change it to $35 for me! :D :D :D

And then as luck would have it on Friday when I was at a BigW, I found that they had the Sith Infiltrator too. So I bought that one and then returned the damaged box so I have a nice looking box too now! :D :D :D

Exo-Force Aero Booster I scooped up for $32 as the American deal I had lined up fell through. The two little ones are from an older wave so I just picked them up straight away since the odds of them still being on the shelves by the time K-Mart or Target have a sale are close to zilch. They were only $8.

Going to build the Aero Booster tonight. :D

I may go have to go back and grab the Devastator and Striking Venom now since they're at such great prices. Having a look on eBay, if I wait till next month when I'm a bit better cash wise, it'll cost me a lot more plus shipping so I guess a little bit of pain now for a bigger gain later.

Grabbed me one of the Clone Trooper figures from the new Star Wars Clone Wars line.

Yeah those are Storm Trooper Lego minifigs, I know, I just threw them in there for the heck of it. :P

Was going to pick up both Captain Rex and the Clone Trooper but ended up passing on Captain Rex because of the sloppy paint job and he really didn't look all that appealing in person.

I've got no prior experience with the Star Wars 3 & 3/4 figurines but I must say the Clone Trooper is a pretty neat figurine. Sleek mould. Decent amount of articulation, really pleased with the ball jointed torso, though I wish his legs weren't just cut joint, can't get him to do a decent kneeling down pose. Not quite fond of the grubby look they gave him but it's nothing major. Would of liked a little stand as well that I see some of the more recent Star Wars figurines have.

But all in all I really like this fellow, I'm probably only just going to pick up troopers from upcoming waves. Heck I'm tempted to go out and buy two more of this guy.

actually neither, went for a tag at home plate (im a catcher) and the bloke ran into me. the glove seemed to keep my joint in place, so the next easiest thing was for the bone to break, so thats my season, as well as my hopes for playing for the uni in the upcoming uni games :( also wrecks cricket preseason :(

oh yeah and ice it will leave a scar, which is good, cause i wana have something to show for all the pain and lack of doing things :P

Damn, I mean I know that trying to take the catcher out for annoying the shit out of you when you were batting is part of the game, but that still sucks! :p

That Regult looks ace but it's a shame Kaiyodo have lost me as a Revoltech buyer. My last purchase was the Gurren-Lagann and when I opened the box to find out the left leg was loose and kept falling off, I just had enough. I've only started buying Revoltech figurines last year, I have a total of six and everyone of them had a loose joint and heck my VF-1A was missing the V-shpae stand. I don't know if it's just really bad luck on my behalf but yeah six mediocre experiences is enough for me.

Friend picked this up for me the other day; General Grievous from the new Star Wars Clone Wars toy line.

As I mentioned in my previous acquisition post (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showpost.php?p=37872&postcount=485) about my newly acquired Clone Trooper I have no previous experiences with the Star Wars figurine line.

Well let me say I'm dissapointed with him. Lack of articulation was the major bummer. The Clone Trooper is chock full of joints (still can't get over how fantastic a figure he is), Grievious on the other hand isn't, no elbow or knee joints. No elbow joints is really annoying when you have his four arms, the lightsabers are in the way of one another, I had to warp and bend his soft plastic arms so the lightsabers don't clash with one another. And speaking of his hands, they don't grasp on to the lightsabers too well, they sort of just "balance" there.

I like my figurines with articulation, that's the real big thing for me. And well I just really can't recommend General Grievious, of course let me just say once again I have no prior experience with Star Wars figurines.

Personally I have found most (nearly all) Star Wars figures to be crap in size, looks, (especially the females), general design, articulation and price.

Just got home with this baby; 7676: Republic Attack Gunship.

It was a tad awkward carrying it through Melbourne Central and on the train ride home, gets a bit tiring carrying a big long box under your arm whilst you have a bag full of textbooks in the other. Got quite a few looks from passerbys as my friend said, well it does stand out quite a bit.

Currently it's sitting on my bedroom floor, I have no classes or lectures tomorrow so I'll be devoting the whole day building this. So (hopefully) expect pictures of the finished build tomorrow. I seriously can't wait to get stuck into this.
