David the android is brilliant! Really looking forward to seeing him in the movie now. Dunno about the rest of the cast yet though. Charlize Theron? Puh-lease. It's got that very modern slick/clean look to it which I'm not really a fan of (prefer the darker, grittier, more realistic style of Blade Runner and Alien) but eh, it's Ridley Scott so I'm sure it'll be good. :)

Then I realised that this was not the best place to start a Dredd story, but to end it. And a trilogy shape began to emerge out of that wrong step." The sequel will see the title character head into a very different terrain as, "there is, outside of Mega-City One, this desert terrain, The Cursed Earth." Meanwhile, Judge Death will be the perfect way to finish off the trilogy as it would mean that we see, "The city coming under this huge threat."

Anyway, saw Rise of the Planet of the Apes last night, great movie.
It's not that violent until the end, basically goes calm for a while, then action, then calm for a couple scenes for character development, then action, then calm, then mysterious, then action again. Worth it! :D

Still not happy with the black redeco and how athletic Robocop is. He should be move like a tank just to emphasize he is a machine and not some guy in a supersuit.

Hasbro's attempt in the 80s to take on Barbie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jem_%28TV_series%29), that came with a cartoon packed with singing and adventure... and included some Transformers Gen1 Voice Actors (since it was being produced by the same people) - Susan Blu, Samantha Newark, Charlie Adler, Jack Angel, Dan Gilverzan, Neil Ross, Wally Burr (& voice director) and Townsend Coleman (who also did roles in Animated).


On a side note... it is worth noting that the voice of the 80s Jem (Samantha Newark) is a guest at BotCon this year, so there will probably be a few closet fans asking her about the new movie, even though it might still be too early for all the casting to be done. (she might get a cameo somewhere as a homage to the original series)

yeah was pretty disappointed with it....the story was so so.... but the VFX was top notch ... I think they need better actors to bring the story to life... it has epic scene and camera angles which look like it was made for trailers ...I also found the sound to be lacking as well as it needed to be more energy to get the mood right ...

After 29 long years of waiting since Beyond Thunderdome (supposedly George Miller has been working on this for the past 10 years), I was hoping for a movie that would appeal to the long-time Mad Max fan within me. The first time I watched the original Mad Max, I absolutely luved it. Compared to today's standards, it seems like it was made on a shoestring budget but it was classic Aussie filmmaking at its best. The 2nd & 3rd movies weren't as good but still watchable.

I was hoping for a raw, gritty Fury Road. Something with real stunts. Something uniquely Aussie (Miller tried to film this in Broken Hill a few years back but after all the rain made the landscape too "green", Miller picked everything up & filmed it in Namibia - & so vanished my hopes for an Aussie Max). So I watched the today's trailer... I couldn't believe that they once again blew up the Interceptor. I couldn't believe Miller got a Pom to play Max (why couldn't they get Mel to play an older, hardened Max?) & all of those over-the-top CGI explosions?

I really hope Fury Road isn't a complete stinker of a Mad Max movie. But I have a feeling that George Miller has been watching too many Michael Bay movies... :rolleyes:

I quite like the Fury Road trailer, granted it's full off Hollywood shots, but the post apocalyptic world depicted appeals to me in terms of the art direction. At least the dusty orange post apocalyptic Australia looks less sterile than the washed out look of other Hollywood post apoc films like Terminator Salvation.

I just wish they'd drop wheadon as director, let him write for sure, but all his movies all look like made for TV fare with uninteresting shots. But that's the cinema snob in me, most don't care about that stuff.

Jared's version of The Joker is likely to be very comedy focused like the Jack Nicholson version because there's no way he'll be able to compete with Heath's version (especially when Heath's version looks like it's psychological profile is that of Carnage from Spider-man).

P.S. It looks like Katana (the asian cutey from the Beware The Bat cartoons) is involved.;)

1.If there's going to be a Ghost Rider reboot some years down the track, then I can see Danny Ketch taking over.

2.Moebius...er, Morbius wouldn't be off limits considering he lives in New York and secondly I recall they crossed paths in the 90's.

Morbius was part of the Midnight Sons but as a character that originated in Spider-Man and has a stronger link to Spidey than any other hero, he's probably included in the group of characters that Sony owns the movie rights to (like the rest of Spidey's villains and supporting cast).

Would be fascinating to see a full list if it existed, and how exceptions are made and which characters might be like Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver and are available to multiple parties.

A very interesting point, considering that Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are the children of Magneto. That could be the opening for the X-men to cross over into the Avengers movies or vice versa.:D

I don't think that Batman's mask is made from lead. ;) :p At least, not the one in that scene.

Also, Superman's X-ray vision and its inability to work through lead originated from the comics AFAIK. Although the Reeve films did certainly give Superman a lot of wacky powers that he never had in the comics. Like turning back time. :o
