What condition is your in? I just picked one up off ebay MOSC for $99. Normally people charge even more for him MOSC (I've seen up to $200), but $99 seems reasonable (and not gouging) for him given the fact he never got a full release in Hasbro territories and a limited one in Japan.

If he is loose I'd say $50 at most given how rare he is. If you have the packaging and it's still in good condition you could try for $80 to the right buyer.
I've seen more common figures that cost $150 MISB go for $30 loose. There is a ton of value in that packaging on the secondary market. I keep all my Takara packaging plus some Hasbro packaging for rare figures (like SDCC stuff) because if I ever decide to sell them that stupid box makes a big difference.

I'm wondering the jewels of my collection.
Anyone have any idea how much the following is worth.
A complete original G1 Optimus Prime box in excellent condition.
(Not a reissue, encore. Original vintage)
Joints are tight barely played with.
I have pics, just not too sure how to upload.
Also have an original 1985 Omega Supreme. Light box wear.
model is complete. Stickers unapplied. Electronics work well.

There are some instructions around here somewhere for uploading images... if you can do that then we can help with a current price estimate. The instructions, sticker sheet, catalogue etc all contribute to the final price. The box/ styrofoam condition can be upto 50% of the value in some cases. :D

Both MISB and never even displayed. I've just had them sealed up in a box for years and thinking about selling them.
Devastator is on eBay for anywhere from $115 loose to $450 MISB which just seems ridiculous.
The other one seems to be limited edition and goes for between $80-$120.
What would a fair price be? I'll probably sell them on here to a member if they are interested and I'm not looking to rip anyone off or make money off these.

First off, welcome to the forum
No idea on how much the Prime is worth, but do post some pictures or link to some shots of it to help people here give you their guestimates...if anything try and look at what the same items are going for in ebay then get the average from that you've seen.
As for the omega - Yes. If it's a s immaculate as you said , complete and electronics still works you've been ripped off. An encore Omega goes for about 130 - 160 now on ebay I would imagine an immaculate and original version of the toy would be worth more than $60.

I don't think one example of a complete Omega Supreme qualifies as a definitive answer. It's probably more of a once-off rather than the norm. I would definitely expect to get more than $60 for one in immaculate condition.
GoktimusPrime
12th November 2014, 09:32 AM
Perhaps the aftermarket price of Omega Supreme has been depreciated by the reissue, which was a big shelf-warmer (and thus readily available for some time). I personally still saw Encore Omega Supreme shelf warming as late as 2012 (some four years after its release; that's Combiner Class Devastator level of shelfwarmage!)

That's just the best example, I could have posted about ten others from the last month alone. I know my childhood one cost $84.99 back in the eighties, but Omega Supreme is a toy that definitely got hit by the Encore release - for a looong time, one could get a MISB Encore toy for less than my grandparents paid thirtyish years ago. The main things that were of value in Paul's one were the full set of yellow clips and working electronics. Nevertheless, he definitely wasn't 'ripped off' and shouldn't think he was.

Shelf-warming or no, it still sells for US $199.90 on RK (http://www.robotkingdom.com/transformers/reissue/tfecr09.html). If I sold one for $60 (which wouldn't happen), I'd definitely feel ripped off. Agree to disagree.

I tend to agree somewhat but a quick search of eBay.com.au shows 10 available - both Encore and vintage G1, currently ranging in prices from AU $205 (still being bid on with 2 days to go) up to AU $554 , so if it's a choice between paying eBay prices or RK, guess where I would be buying it from ;) $60 dollars doesn't really sound fair now does it.
For the record, I bought mine (Encore version) 5 years ago from RK and paid US $79.90, but that was less than 12 months after it was released and therefore still being produced.

Not too sure about G2 Grimlock as I've never really looked into it, but the S.T.A.R.S. base is pretty rare to find complete and not in a destroyed through play state. It also had multiple components so online sellers tend to separate them and they are all pretty expensive. I got super lucky obtaining mine a couple of years ago, but still paid in excess of $150 AUD for just the base and poster with a handful of bios.

Questions like this can generally go in the Price Check thread (sticky).
However, since a thread's been made,
I'm trying to decide whether I want this one or the new Hasbro MP.
The price is significantly cheaper to go the Hasbro route, but there is no coronation gear.
I already have the original Hasbro MP Starscream (with the detached tail fins and burn damage effects.)

Since those are European Transformers the value is unpredictable, because they were released here, but not in America... so you could get more for listing them on Ebay America. It is probably best to do an ebay America search, and list "sold listings" to get a very rough idea of what they are worth... and then probably halve that if you tried selling them in Australia.

If you are referring to the Leader class toys, not a lot. $40 - $300 range online is very optimistic for a pre-loved toy. The high end is just absolute balony. Both Bumblebee & Ironhide shelf warmed & were found at a heavy discount ($30-$40 IIRC) in store chain such as Toyworld a few years back.

Not really a lot go up for sale to have any kind of price guide. Depends on the character. The harder to find ones will still sell quite high even in the Spanish boxes.
But generally the Spanish boxes are valued a lot less than the English ones. There are a few up on Ebay AU (and UK/US) that have been listed for a long time - but haven't sold yet. Best bet would be to check the sold auctions on Ebay.:)

Agreed....
Spanish sets go for a lot less than their non Spanish counterparts, there has been a renaissance of sorts in the last 18 months or so for gold box collectors so the prices have risen a little but it does depend on figure, condition etc.

6th February 2016, 09:19 PM
As an MIB Prime collector I have seen a lot of crazy prices over the years, and I say crazy because of how low they go for now. It's like nobody cares about the greatest leader of all time. I recently missed out on the French/Euro Red Feet variant Prime MIB for under $180 !! (thanks to the seller having it finish around dinner time on a week night in our house) I also missed out on a metal plate trailer Prime for around the same price for the same reason  late last year.
Here is a good write up from my favourite TF reviewer/blogger Maz. http://www.tf-1.com/articles/mex/mexprime_template.html

Short answer would be No. At least not for MP-1. If anything it still seems to be quite sought after - in Asia at least.
I've been hunting for one for a while and the 2 I have encountered recently (one here in HK and another in Tokyo) have been significantly more expensive than I would have thought. Hence I didn't buy them. :(

As an MISB/MIB collector I wouldn't take that into account but it's a fair point.
MISB Hasbro Smokescreen imho is worth $75 - $95, the MP-4, well, $250 - $800 depending on method of sale and condition of box and the person buying it ;)
If selling on e-bay all prices must take into account their fees plus (if used) the paypal fees which add up to approximately 12.9% to the sale.

ok i just found it in the garage, it's actually binaltech smokescreen but just the plain blue, not the WRC versions. it looks to be MISB as i can see the little plastic rope/tie thingies and tape over the sides. what do you think?
Could it be BT19 Bluestreak? If the tape hasn't been cut it should be MISB. See http://www.transformertoys.co.uk/images/transformers-toys/alternators/bt-bluestreak/bt-bluestreak-002.jpg - notice the plastic strip on the inside over the doors. Not a bad looking motor - looks like the post 'bug eye' WRX.

yep that's it. on one of the ends there is some kind marking or maybe gunk of some sort near where the tape is but i don't know if that's just random crap or if that means the tape has been taken off and then put back in a slightly different position...paranoid much lol. i'll try taking a photo soon.

Could be due to heating/cooling of the box if it has been in storage. Heat would make the adhesive soft. If the cardboard flaps move slightly over time, it may take the tape with it and leave adhesive residue. Shouldn't move much though. Photo would be good :)

A cursory look on evil-Bay indicates that this toy has - not surprisingly - depreciated. There's a MISB one going for about AU$88, and a loose complete going for AU$52, obviously not factoring cost of postage. So I reckon $70 would be a fair asking price. Depends on how desperately he wants to offload it.

Can anyone tell me what a complete loose OMEGA SENTINEL toy is worth.
And was it a mass release or one of those exclusives with smaller number?
Would like to know a price, as i'm looking at buying one without a head, and then buying an Energon Omega and swapping the heads as it seems to be the cheapest option.
I don't care about boxes, just complete toy, loose etc in reasonable condition, what's it worth?

AFAIK, Omega Sentinel was a general release figure, however came out close to the end of the line, so distribution may have been limited. So much so, that I don't recall it ever being on shelves in Australia

I'm looking at $80 loose with no head, but otherwise in good shape. Then about $500 MISB, or near to it.
Wondering what a loose one, out of box, but complete goes for.
I'm hoping under $300. Guess it depends how rare they are.
I mean I paid $100 each for G1 Scorponok (has head, but no accessories, and in good condition) and WFC Omega (energon hands version, grey body) complete in box, but opened for display, never transformed.
I see vanilla Energon Omega's go cheap all the time, but not many Omega Sentinel's and I want one so much!

Any ideas on a price for Generations Drift? I have one to sell.
Loose Complete = $20
Mint Sealed = $30
General Rule of Thumb is to look at the original RRP for toys and work from there. Unless the toy is exceptionally rare (e.g. limited exclusive etc.) and in high demand, then they rarely command above RRP even on the aftermarket. Law of supply and demand blah blah blah. ;)
Legends (old) = $7
Scout = $15
Commander/Legends (new) = $20
Deluxe = $30
Voyager = $50
Leader = $100
These are all based on the assumption that the toy is mint sealed. Reduce prices accordingly if the toy is loose complete, and obviously reduce further if the toy is incomplete etc. And even then, you may not get any bites straight away due to the nature of this community - i.e. long time collectors who usually buy the toys we want straight away and thus rarely purchase off the secondary market. Basically there is a low demand for secondary market toys among long term collectors. I'm currently trying to sell no fewer than two loose complete Deluxes at $10 below RRP, but I'm prepared to be patient. :)
Collecting toys generally sucks as a form of financial investment. All of us here do it out of the love of playing with these toys, but we generally aren't making massive profits out of it. :o If you're looking to invest then I recommend looking at stock market shares or real estate. ;)

Just out of sheer curiosity, I wonder what the average aftermarket price for MP Alert is given the recent reissue. I recently acquired a G2 MP Lambor for 5000JPY (AU$63); same condition as the MP Alert being sold here (http://otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=23553) (loose mint in box). I was surprised to see that the aftermarket price for this toy had depreciated from its original RRP of 6500JPY (AU$82). As I said, I paid about $100 for my MISB MP Alert off the aftermarket. But perhaps it's because MP G2 Lambor is essentially just a variant of a main MP toy (MP12) and also based on a less popular* rendition of that character whereas Alert, coming from early G1 (and also featuring in the G1 cartoon) enjoys far greater popularity (and thus demand).
Or is this simply a natural price difference between a mint sealed toy and a loose mint toy? I'm not a sealed collector, but for those who are, would a toy not being mint sealed command a significantly lower price? e.g. working off $100 for a MISB MP Alert then what would be a reasonable price for a LMIB MP Alert?
As you all know I rarely buy anything off the aftermarket, but I must confess that this discussion has piqued my curiosity. :) Thoughts?
-------------------------------------------------------------
*As awesome as the G2 comics were, we know that it wasn't a strong seller being axed after only 12 issues. And the G2 franchise as a whole was arguably the lowest point in the Transformers brand.

Given the size of the box, with postage the price will mostly be too high for people to go after. I remember one last year on gumtree for $550.
I got lucky last year when in Singapore on a national holiday - they had market type sales and a hobby store had one reduced to $400, needless to say I bought it :)

I love my G2 MP Sideswipe, I've got him with his fluro stickers on and it looks glorious.
I think he has gradually just depreciated over time being G2 like with the diaclone MP's there seems to be an early burst of demand but then it falls off a cliff once the die hards have them, I struggled to sell an MISB one about 2 1/2 years ago for around the $80 mark on e-bay.
Alert has flooded the market with the reissue plus the + :p version and a tonne of knock offs, as much as I severely hate the KO market, it does affect the genuine market, so there is well and truly an over supply, although when I got mine it was hard to find a genuine one amongst the ultra cheap ($40 MISB posted!) fake ones.
I think MISB $80 - $100 is the price window for Alert on e-bay, but I would lean to the lower side of the margin, and if you looked at overseas e-tailers it would probably be cheaper.

The Costco version was the ultra shiny special version of that toy. Was quite in demand at the time, have a pic somewhere of the mass buy Iceburn and I did at the time for OTCA members.
The BigW version was plain but it's still a good figure. So good in fact Takara released it as a "Masterpiece" figure. Not sure what the prices are on that but might be worth looking at the MP as an alternative if the Costco one is too pricey.

Was it this one? I was searching across the boards to see if anyone had it up for sale and I came across the group order. I have had a look at the entire range of movie Bees and so far this is the only one that jumped out at me with the metallic paint, even if the scaled size is atrociously large for most collectors.
Been looking for this about a month now and would count my lucky stars if I could grab one for under $100. There's not too many on eBay which probably explains why the other 5-10 figures are going for $250+ USD.

Just picked up a loose-complete in box MP Delta Magnus for less than $75. Even with about $55 shipping it still works out cheaper than the original approx. $120 RRP. :D I can still see other similar-condition MP Delta Magni selling at $100-110 on Mandarake. Not surprising to see how cheap these toys are considering what a massive shelfwarmer MP Delta Magnus was.
Sure beats paying $40k for the Diaclone version. :p

Hello Chaps,
I picked up a MISB Transformers Six Liner C-370 G1 1991 a few years back which was graded by a now closed company at 8.8.
Can someone give me a general figure $$ as I am thinking of selling this soon and have no idea about its general value atm ?
Thank you. :)
Man that's sounds like a sweet piece, I'd say just MISB on its own it would fetch up to $300 depending on box, while I collect sealed and JP Tf's I am not much of an expert on the graded figure pricing structure, but in a nice sealed display case with a grade maybe $500.

Nice score Gok, there are nice G1 Powered Convoys for under $1000 getting around, although not MISB :p
I've been surprised generally how poorly the diaclone coloured MP's have sold, there is always the initial mad interest but they just don't do very well in the longer term.

This toy didn't do well even in the short term. I saw Delta Magni shelfwarming in Japanese stores when I was there in 2016, and I still found shelfwarming MP Road Rages in Japan just last year.
I'm not surprised that the Diaclone repaints don't sell well. I'm more surprised that TakaraTOMY saw fit to release them as mass-store produced figures and yet the Coneheads were limited exclusives. Wuh?! I know that Exhaust has sold well, but he seems to be the exception rather than the rule. On the whole I think that it makes more sense for Diaclone based figures to be released as limited exclusives. Sure, being a shelfwarmer can work out well for collectors because we can get these toys cheaper later on, but it's not good for the brand which in the long term is not great for collectors.

Yeah I agree, it particularly had a negative effect on the Oz market with Road Rage and although not a Diaclone repaint but a JP release, Star Sabre who is an awesome MP also ended up on clearance. Surely Tak/Tom and to a further extent TRU Oz know that stocking more popular MP's at such ridiculous prices would have better chance selling. The lack of coneheads and even Thundercracker anywhere is just baffling.

I reckon that was because of the Marlboro style paintjob.

Is there a standard price for MP coins or does it vary?

Generally the cost of an MP with a Coin is about $10 more maybe $15 than the same toy without from the same store. I've happily spent $10 -$15 to get the odd coin that I've missed out on due to purchasing somewhere significantly cheaper that doesn't sell the coin.
some people are happy to part with the coins for the cost of postage.
some are considered rarer and I guess fetch a little more but I haven't been watching that market, I'd say it's specific to eBay.

Thanks, Margie. :)
I'm getting an MP18B blue Streak with the coin, but I don't care for the coin so I'll probably sell it for $15.

That doesn't make you sound self-entitled at all. I've given away a lot of stuff, including some MP coins. It's entirely my decision if I want to continue giving stuff away for free or if I want to sell it. You are not entitled to freebies from other collectors.
Also, darers do first.

Average price for the coins yea $10 to $15. I'm actually going to offload mine too whenever I can find where they all are
That said, I believe MP Exhaust's coin would demand a much higher price due to it being unreleased

Hey All,
I have A MIB MP-4S I am thinking about selling. I can't find any completed listing on Ebay and I imagine this guy is probably dreaming...
Ebay Sale 1 (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Takara-Transformers-MP-04S-Optimus-Prime-Sleep-Mode/112594978303?hash=item1a372f05ff:g:DeAAAOSwrFJZ2v2 j)
This one probably more so...
Ebay Sale 2 (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TAKARA-TOMY-Transformers-MP-4S-Convoy-Sleep-Mode-limited-Unopened-Brand-New-A42/273256483575?hash=item3f9f5b0af7:g:pBMAAOSwa9FbE0i z)
Any ideas on what it's worth MIB?
As I understand it was limited to 2010 copies for the Japanese Market and 2010 copies for the HK Asian market.
I believe I have the later as the collector card has C1 at the front of the Serial Number.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

$470-$800 Max.
This based on what you can get them for through Asian suppliers... MISB ones by the way.
That does not include shipping here... probably add another $50-70.
I'd suggest you keep it instead.
I notice a couple of Asian collectors off loading this now so it's impacting on the resale value.

Usually goes for around $600 MIB, I was watching them sometime last year over a few momths, pretty slim pickings around at the moment so you may get more on e-bay.

Don't think so, there isn't a lot of demand for the movie stuff.

Use current RRPs for anything sealed, and go down from there if the toys are loose.

I am thinking of selling my reissue G1 predaking. Its been on display and has all the stickers applied. The box has some wear and is not mint but the figures are all in good condition and all the contents are there. Its the 2004 reissue that is in original colours. I have not shopped for G1 stuff for a long time so I am not sure what this goes for these days. I dont see many for sale, plenty of the gold reissue, very few of the original coloured version. Cheers for any help.

2004 reissue Predaking would've cost you 14700JPY including consumption tax before shipping. Adjusting for inflation that's the equivalent of 15386JPY today which is about $200.
