Yes I agree, and have been following the comics closely. My question remains, why devote so much limited comic-panel spacing for Sky-Byte? Unless IDW had a directive from Hasbro earlier on in the year to include and up-sell Sky-Byte's character, I don't see a particular reason why this character should get more glamour over a plethora of original vintage characters.Quote:

The bigger reason is the edict from Archer way back, saying that they wouldn't do HM's, because of too many kids losing the heads and then having an incomplete toy that had become useless (as evidenced by the number of headless of Headmasters you see everyday on eBay).
That's why Energon Omega Supreme had that second smaller head, so even if you lost the big head, it still had a head of sorts.
Of course, now that Archer is no longer with the company, that edict may not be applicable, but I certainly think it's something that the current regime will stay the same on.

The list has further been divided into matching assortments, but I'm not sure about that. In general female figures tend to sell less than males, and the assortment in question would have 3 of the 4 toys being females: Arcee, Chromia, Windblade, and then the 1 male character.
It also suggests that the general assumption that Arcee and Chromia would share a mold may be wrong. It's pretty rare for retools to share a wave, although there is recent precedent with FOC Soundwave and Soundblaster.
Looking at the updated list on Seibertron I like the long list of IDW/G1 characters, but I think they are over doing it on AOE toys. I bet many will be canceled like DOTM due to the line not selling.

Jetfire is certainly a crap figure, but I wouldn't be surprised. We have seen some odd entries for the Platinum stuff.
It's all speculation of course. I hope they're both new molds with the general Classics aesthetics, but at the same time wonder if it's just wishful thinking.
But it's all speculation anyway. We simply don't know. I just thought that theory worthy of mention, as it does seem somewhat plausible in many ways. Biggest drawback being as you mentioned, that Jetfire isn't a good toy on its own. But it's been proven time and time again that fans will buy it if it has a G1 homage in the paint scheme.
It's not just a question of Hasbro making use of an under-used mold. If retailers remember that Leader Jetfire was a dud then it will not be ordered.
Jetfire and Megatron were listed under Generations, yeah? Not TF4... TF4 I could makes some sense out of, but not Generations.
There is precedent as the two Leader toys I mentioned before, the GDOs, are Generations releases, despite being movie molds.
And there is going to be TF4 product released under the Generations banner anyway. I believe the Optimus we've already seen is slated to be a Generations release.
So yeah, the theory isn't totally crazy.
I just hope it's wrong. Who doesn't want new mold G1 Jetfire and Megs? Personally I am hoping that Megs is a tank like his Legends card art.
Jetfire: just amaze me, Hasbro. I love the Classics toy, but man, I'd love for this to be a stronger Skyfire toy, or, considering what they just went through, one that hews closer to the Macross look. Just make it badass.

Depending on their size/whatever I could totally see a potential leader Generations Megatron/Jetfire as being good stand-ins for MP counterparts, considering the difficulties surrounding doing proper MPs for the both of them.
The Leader Optimus Prime from TF4 that was shown a little while ago is going to be released under the Generations line first before the main TF4 line kicks in. It could be they are doing other TF4 figures under Generations first.Quote:
