Cheers mate :) Do you know if you can cancel pre-orders if necessary?

Yea should be easy enough. Though once it comes in and you cancel it, they do tend to get a lil annoyed.
Yeah, I've heard of a number of black-listings occurring because of people backing out at the last minute. ;)
My account was set up to automatically take payment but I've no idea how I set that up :o:rolleyes:, since then though they've changed money handlers to PayPal.
Gotta find out if you now HAVE to pay through paypal, or if they will simply just facilitate payment.
They also send you out emails letting you know how long your item/s have beem sitting in their Private Warehouse. I find it a handy tool when using the PW option. As the others have noted, you can set up how you'd like to pay for it quite easily -it's one of the last steps before finalising an order.
Just be aware that HLJ don't pack their boxes with any padding, styro etc. In my experience all i received was the item heat wrapped in plastic with a cardboard backer & put in the shipping carton. Not as bad as Amazon, but not as good as BBTS either
I don't think I've paid above $20AUD (After Conversion) for EMS from Japan ever on any of my MP Cars; FortMax (5kg) & Metroplex (2.5kg) were $89AUD & $75AUD respectively but all were at my door within 4-5 days. :)
Considering that sending an average sized parcel interstate costs a minimum of $10 these days, I'm happy to pay $20 to have something of equivalent size arrive from the Northern Hemisphere faster than I can get something from a neighbouring state. ;)
Surprisingly Amazon Japan currently has Wheeljack on preorder for full retail! And so far no news of any exclusive bonus content. Oh well, looks like I'll be sticking w/ HLJ on this one then (unless Amazon drops their price and/or offers some groovy bonus goodie :p). :o
Further to Hursti's post, I was charged $16US for EMS for two MP Datsuns from HLJ.
That doesn't sound correct, if anything HLJ has the best packaging I gotten so far.
Depending on amounts ordered and size certain postage options are better than another. I have no issues with ANY of the Japanese online stores coming in SAL uninsured.
I do not understand why Amiami is forever sold out for almost every single toy released. Seriously, I don't understand. either they do not stock up at all or something.
Amazon's initial listing is almost always full retail. They'll revise it some point afterwards to be competitive. You can order now (in case they sell out) because their preorder price guarantee and no fuss cancellation will cover you should you decide to get it somewhere else.
Each of my Datos came exactly as Sinnertwin described, my FortMax & Metroplex had a single layer of bubble-wrap enshrouding them - that said, even though that all sounds iffy in writing, I've not received anything damaged by transit from HLJ to date.
The going opinion seems to be that they're a smaller store than HLJ and only ever seem to procure a limited amount of stock; whether that's because they don't have as much buying power, or TFs just not being a primary focus? - Who knows. :)Quote:

Yeah I have not gotten anything damaged from hlj, but in comparison to most places I ordered their packaging is heaps better.
As for Amiami, I heard they are one of the largest store but their online inventory for toys are always shocking. Is like within 2 minutes is always sold out. Their hobby kits were one of the only things so far I could order with no hassles. But for toys is almost mere impossible. I noticed this for Transformer masterpiece, chogokins or any popular hot toy as they have low prices.
Anime Export has cheapest so far, but I have not ordered from them regularly and you have to pay upfront. HLJ has the best ordering system I know so far.
Because they're small they probably don't want to be left with unsold stock like you see on the bigger retailers. Similar thing happens with local video game outlets in Japan, if they over order eventually they have to compete with clearance prices elsewhere and lose out. I think they come across as bigger than they actually are since they were one of the first retailers to get an English presence. There's heaps and heaps of similar sized retailers on Rakuten Japan that just don't deal with English customers at all and are also quickly and forever sold out.
Yeah it's interesting that the chest looks identical in both modes, so presumably that split is just a result of those pieces needing to move during transformation to give some other piece clearance. Hopefully his paint apps will probably do a decent enough job masking it, I just hope it lines up and holds in place securely.
My only real complaint so far is the back of his feet look a bit floaty, but that's just a design pet peeve of mine really and probably isn't obvious from most angles.
Whilst I wouldn't place their packaging last on a list, Amazon takes that position :p, I'd have to say that AmiAmi, RobotKingdom, BBTS & TFSource are superior in that department. :)
I can't speak to their physical presence, but beyond notoriety their online store certainly seems smaller. *shrugs*Quote:

I'd put their ordering system on par to that of TFSource's, personally, but whilst Anime Export may be the cheapest at this point - I simply can't afford to front the cash up now as I need to save up. :oQuote:

(That's the only reason I didn't jump when @TheJackSack tweeted the scoop ;))
Interestingly my wheeljack's shipping cost less than G2 Sideswipe. lol
Anime-Export as previously mentioned.
they were pretty good when I used them. I ordered Fort Max, Animated Version Reissue Devastator and a couple other items from them. it all came nicely wrapped in bubble wrap but there was a bit of air in the box which would not have provided much support if treated too roughly.
While they require up front payment they do not charge for shipping until the item is packed and ready to ship. by default they use the cheapest shipping method.
my biggest gripe was they contacted me prior to shipping to say that they didn't have the Alternity Thundercracker that I ordered, I got a refund that effectively went towards shipping. I later contacted them and asked why it was still listed as in stock on their site. they said they would fix it.
it's now a year later and they still list it as in stock. I honestly think they couldn't get it to fit in the box so they left it out. rather than find a larger box and spending more on packing.
I double ordered G2 Sideswipe and Wheeljack through them on Monday. they should both ship together in August.
I'm pretty excited about this wheeljack, like everyone else I'm a little bit worried by the apparent nuber of joints on the chest/roof.
Out of all the places mentioned. Which one would have the cheapest shipping rates?
^ Anime Export, but the only disadvantage is payment upfront, but otherwise is pretty good.
payment upfront isn't totally a bad thing when the yen is soo low for now...
Amazon JP's exclusive extra was announced at post #171 (the anti-hypnosis device - the "lunchbox").
It's even shown on Amazon JP's product page.
HLJ usually. Or one of the Honk Kong stores (Robot Kingdom, E-Hobby Base Shop etc).
Robot Kingdom have the Amazon Japan Exclusive Gift (Anti-Hypnosis accessory) included with their pre-orders. Payment + shipping upfront.
Anime Export typically have the cheapest prices and ship first amongst the export stores, but if there is a problem prepare to be ignored by their customer support.
hmm... RK has no mention of a coin
I'll be pretty annoyed if RK don't supply the coin as well, it's themain reason I've ordered the last few MPs throught them. Although it is on their preorder page for MP Wheeljack that he will come with the anti hypnosis device but only on a first come first served basis.

The collector coin doesn't do anything for me. I've just got rid of a few at bargain prices for a fellow member to enjoy. The Amazon exclusive anti-hypnosis accessory, on the other hand, is a welcome addition.
Just noticed from the link that RK has removed the 5% discount for MP Wheeljack. They did mention that the discount will end 1.5 months before its release or earlier. In this case, it's earlier!
+1. I'm gonna preorder from Amazon... I'll wait until they confirm their preorder discount price before cancelling my HLJ preorder though (juuust in case). ;) Worse case scenario I might end up w/ a spare MP Wheeljack which I'm sure I can sell off to someone else. :p
kind of let down that these accessories don't go with normal online retailers?
I don't care about the coins but the weapons and such have been....come on.
Oh well.....suck in.
so would it be a bad thing not to pre order? Might sound silly but my reason is that i have moved house and will be moving again (just sold and in between properties) in 6 months.
HLJ, Anime Export, BBTS, Amazon, Robot Kingdom etc, been surfing them all to find a good pre-order deal for Wheeljack.
I wonder how hard it would be to set up an Aussie company like that. I'd happily quit teaching to run it if it would make a profit and Aussies could get their toys without paying enormous shipping rates. :)
I've been using the Auspost parcel lockers since they first rolled out and they're great - I highly recommend them to everyone. 24/7 pickup for the first 48 hours so no more racing to the post office by 5pm to get your missed deliveries. :) Just be aware that they do still need a street address (of the post office) so it may not be convenient after a move unless you work nearby and aren't changing jobs. They also don't accept deliveries from third parties (couriers - UPS, TNT, FedEx) yet. The wording can be confusing but anything that would be delivered by regular mail is fine, including airmail, SAL, EMS, even iParcel.
Personally, I'm not sure the market in Australia is big enough to make a living exclusively selling transformers. For a small retailer, and especially if you want to sell the expensive third party items, the risk of unsold inventory is too high and could be crippling if you make a bad call on which products to stock. Also meeting obligations under Australian Consumer Law as well as import duties and GST could add significantly to your overheads. Not to mention that Australian domestic postage is relatively expensive so it could cost as much or more to send something around the country as it does to ship from Asia.Quote:

For me, I never FedEx or go expensive shipping as yet, other than EMS due to size of the item. I even have two parcel lockers location. Best part is SAL uninsured or registered is secured in the locker, no drop offs to the door step and worrying if someone steals it.
I have not encountered any issues other than the item was too big and just needed to go to the Post office and collect the item which is still better than a "we missed you" slip in your letter box.
