Default 8.4-9 Magnitude Quake Hits Japan!

The poor people of Northern Japan have just been hit by an 8.4-9 Magnitude Earthquake!

There is going to be some extremely sad stories, scenes and occurrences over the next week or so.
My thoughts are with our Asiatic Neighbours in this truly dark time.

Have been following this on the news. Absolutely horrible stuff.

Unfortunately, it just sucks to be situated anywhere near the Pacific Tectonic Plate and/or any of it's neighbours.
This sort of thing has been happening for millions of years but now with greater and wider knowledge, plus TV Cameras and the Internet, far more people around the world are able to see what can and will occur.

Crikey thats some amazing footage we are seeing. I am supposed to be leaving for Japan on Tuesday...

Worst hit seems to be northern japan, but Apparently Disney lands' carpak got flooded from the tsunami.

Just been watching some footage of the tsunami, and you can see cras driving away from the tsunami.... One got cut off by the wave and had to turn for the nearest building. Wow.

looks like that due to the lack of warning, the tsunami caught many by surprise. I hope that people are all fine.

The footage is amazing, and much more thorough and varied (read: useful) than the 20 seconds of repeated stock footage we got when Brisvegas was hit with their floods.

The word tsunami does not do it justice, it was just a wall of water obliterating everything.

Japan being Japan, I'd wager that it'll only be a matter of weeks before the clean up is finished and things start turning to normal, unlike the poor folk of QLD and Christchurch.

Fingers crossed for Japan! This is really shocking, watching on channel 9 right now, that amount of water is hard to comprehend and the fires too.

I wonder how religious beliefs justify events like this?
