Perceptor was so inept he couldnt save prime the first time he died... so they needed a quintesson to bring him back...

as we all know the Sunbow cartoons was riddled with inconsistencies and mysteries, inaccuracies, prolly due to having a whole slew of different writers doing the stories... its like the Combaticons.. who appeared ambushing the aerialbots then all of a sudden a few episodes later they just got created by starscream?!?! chicken and the egg kinda thing...

Or how the Decepticons built the Constructicons on Earth episode 16, but then in episode 46 the Constructicons existed on Cybertron who were friends with Omega Supreme until Megatron reprogrammed them as Decepticons. Then in episode 69 Rodimus Prime gazes into the past through the Matrix and witnesses the Constructicons creating Megatron!
