This is what I'd initially erronously posted on the Top 5 GUR thread which also included CHU... heh. So I'll just paste it here again since this thread's more appropriate (and I'll delete it from the other thread )

    5. Classics Starscream: Took me a while to warm up to this mould, but it's a very nice update of the original G1 Seeker mould with contemporary engineering. Robot Masters Seekers look better for display, but the Classics offer better play value. The Universe repaint of this mould looks nice, but I chose Classics since it's the only version I have. Classics Skywarp is nice too - colours aren't as nice as Gentei Skywarp's, but Classics Skywarp doesn't suffer from mould degradation issues that his Gentei counterpart has.

    4. Classics Mirage: What's not to love about this toy? Love the poseability!

    3. Classics Bumblebee: At the time it came out (2006) I thought it was the coolest Bumblebee toy since Pretender Bumblebee! The hatchback alt mode looks nice... keeps Bumblebee as a compact and avoids a lawsuit with VW. The open inside details with driver and passenger seats is also especially nice. It's like a simplified form of what we get with BinalternanirtyKISSplay but at a Deluxe size and price point - neat!

    2. Classics Optimus Prime: It's just a really cool toy! I like how the wind vane and smoke stacks become weapons.

    1. Classics Jetfire: An amazing hybrid between the original Macross-based toy and the Marvel/Sunbow model used in the G1 comics/cartoon; and homaging two distinctly different looking models isn't that easy. Hats off to HasTak for such an ingenious design.

    ---------------------

An honourable mention to Henkei Megatron. Although the Classics Megatron mould may be based on the Nerf Maverick, it finally gave us a chance to own a gun Megatron (instead of another jet or tank etc.) but without incurring legal issues from being a replica firearm. But I was never a fan of Classics Megatron's Clown Colours - and Henkei Megatron massively improves on that. He's the only gun Megatron I own whom I can proudly display on my Classicsverse Decepticon shelf alongside his troops, and not have to imprison in an isolated glass case! And of course, he's the only gun Megatron that I can carry around in public too.

Way to make it even harder UltraMagnus.

    Okay, here we go :

    1. Classics/Universe 2.0 - Cyclonus w/ Nightstick
    2. Classics/Universe 2.0 w/ Fansproject - Bruticus
    3. MGT01-Delicate Warrior - Arcee
    4. Classics - Starscream (Seeker Mold)
    5. Reveal The Shield - Lugnut

    Notable Mentions :

    • Classics w/ Fansproject - Ultra Magnus (Optimus Prime Mold)
    • Perfect Effect - Frenzy & Rumble (Shadow Warrior Mold)
    • Fansproject - Warbot (Defender)
    • Classics/Universe 2.0 w/Head Robots - Hardhead (Onslaught Mold)
    • Classics/Universe 2.0 - Cosmos

Where needed, I've made mention of a specific Mold as I believe that the Mold in General has made quite an impact and deserves it's own mention.

Realistically, it is excruciatingly hard to come up with a list because Classicsverse and 3rd Party combined, are crammed full of excellent figures and putting a number on them is probably not even fair.
What is for certain, is that 3rd Parties have definitely made an impact on the line/s but HasTakTom are still king of the hill, though FP-Bruticus has made a consorted journey up that lofty peak.

While it wasn't the reason I got back into collecting, Classics et al are now my raison d'etre. To me, the reasons for the lines' greatness are that with the modern advances in technology, they've delivered not only technically superior toys, but toys that matched the animation I thoroughly co-enjoyed while collecting and playing with the original toys as a child. Therefore, my favorite toys are the ones that either weren't available at that time, either entirely, or just in the greatness that they exist now.

    In no particular order:

    Unicron (Transformers 2010)
How could you make a movie to advance a line of warring toy characters, and not make a toy of the biggest, baddest, bad guy. The Unicron that TakaraTomy made in 2010 is that Unicron. It's absolutely perfect. Earlier versions need not apply.

    Skyfire (Henkei or Classics)
I loved my G1 Jetfire as a child, but what I always really wanted, was a Skyfire toy. Heroic, futuristic, I adored that character and his alt mode. While the Classics/Henkei reincarnation is a blend of both Jetfire and Skyfire, the head mold is so perfect (best ever), that it still completely successfully exudes Skyfire to me, making me one happy camper. I have the slightest preference towards the Henkei flavor, but Hasbro outdid themselves with this one, as their version is virtually equally exceptional.

    Wheelie (Universe)
I'm sure this one will be contentious. I loved G1 Wheelie, both in the cartoon, and in the G1 toy, although only so far as the alt mode. Not only did the robot mode not match his fictional representation, it was arguably the shittest robot mode in any Transfomer to date. While TakaraTomy blew it with the colors, the Universe version is excellent.

    Bruticus (Universe, Fansproject)
I've said it before. This amalgamation of toys, accessories and add-ons represents the greatest Transformers I have ever seen or owned. The fact that half of it was designed expos facto only adds to the awe. Scale, articulation, armament, this guy is what everyone should have always wanted in a combiner. Kudos to HasTak's initial work and IP, and to Fansproject for their extending vision.

I can't come up with a fifth that I feel represents the caliber of these four. I do have a few honorable mentions though:

Thrust, and all of the other seekers (Henkei)
G1 seekers were tight-ass Partformers. Great alt modes, but no fun, and prone to parts loss. The modern equivalent is great, especially the diversity of the four flavors. Thrust just happens to be my favorite, but they're all great, although a bit boring.

    Hound (Henkei)
I got the Universe version first, and I really liked it. Then I got the Henkei version and I was in love; the dark, rich green, the great head mold, it's G.I.Joe-Vamp-esque alt mode, and lastly, that gunmetal colored chrome they used on the front bumper is just pure love. It's the little things.

Every other Henkei, United and Fansproject toy
When i think about it, I absolutely adore these lines and virtually all of the toys within them. As I've just finished putting the final toys on my 1986 Movie Autobots display, I really couldn't be happier as a Transformer collector.

Hmmm... interesting. If he counts as a Classicsverse toy, then 2010 Creator Primus well and truly knocks Universe Ironhide out of my top five.
