Australian TF-DotM competitions

For those not on the mailing list, or didn't get this email today, this is a roundup of the current known competitions in Australia for Dark of the Moon.

There are quite a lot of Movie competitions out there right now, and I think as many as possible should be won by actual fans.
After all, we're the ones who have dedicated our time and money to this franchise, throughout the good and the bad... so we should be the ones rewarded with competition prizes that amount to many thousands of dollars.
Below are details and tips on entering each of the competitions I know about.

Transformers prizes should go to Transformers fans, instead of someone randomly entering it, or one of those people who make a living out of entering competitions. Even if you aren't interested in the prizes, consider entering ones that don't cost anything, to reduce the odds of a non-fan winning.


Network Ten - 2 tickets to Florida to visit NASA, valued at $11,400. CLOSES 26th June.
This is an SMS competition, that costs 55cents per entry. Send the message once, and then resend copies of it for as much as you're willing to spend.

Target - Major Prize pack of Entertainment equipment worth $7,820. Weekly prizes worth $500. CLOSES 3rd July.
Website entry appears to be unlimited, provided you have obtained a Transformers Trading card from a purchase at a Target store. And you probably need to re-enter every week to be eligible for each of the weekly prizes.

Facebook - Win $5000. CLOSES 28th June.
Need to be a registered member of Facebook. Competition requires photographic proof of your TFs obsession, and have the most people nominate it as a favourite. This one requires a fair bit of work, and the earlier you set up your entry, the better the chance of getting the most votes before it ends.

1800reverse - Major Prize pack of Multimedia items worth $1,172. CLOSES 3rd July.
A free website competition, so everyone should enter this one. Conditions don't say you can only enter once, so maybe enter as many times as you can (but check that first before you enter more than once).

Fishpond.com - Gold coloured 2007 Movie Optimus toy, 1 of 88 produced, value unknown. CLOSES 29th June.
Purchase from that online store required for entry.

Sanity.com - iphone projector and charger mat, worth $600. CLOSES 25th June.
Entry requires purchasing the Soundtrack from their site.

Sludgefactory.com.au - TF3 Charger-mat, worth about $300. CLOSES 1st July.
Free entry, by emailing them what one of the Bands on the Soundtack is.

Perth Mint - Win a set of Perth Mint Coins worth $299. CLOSES 24th June.
Competition on this messageboard, with a single free entry of 30 words or less.

Bombshellzine.com - Win a Transformers logo Headphones, worth about $100. CLOSES 26th June.
Free, single entry, via email. Only requirement is to watch Linkin Park's Iridescent.

JayJays Website - Win 11 tickets to a Gold Class cinema or set of Perth Mint Coins, worth about $300. STARTS 22nd June - CLOSES 3rd July
Website competition, usually with free entry.

JayJays Facebook - Win an Ipod Projector. (start and closing dates could be the same as their Website competition)
Probably need to be a Facebook Member to be able to enter, or post a reply to whatever their competition question will be.

ToysRUs - Toy and movie prize pack valued at $250. CLOSES 15th June.
Free website entry of 25 words or less.

JBHiFi - 2 pairs of TF-logo gaming headphones, valued at $170. CLOSES 20th June.
Entry requires purchase of DotM Soundtrack from their site.

To celebrate the release of TRANSFORMERS DARK OF THE MOON, in cinemas JUNE 29, together with our friends at Paramount Pictures, we're offering you the chance to win a VERY RARE 3-in-1 TRANSFORMERS DARK OF THE MOON Games Table!

There are only 15 of these in the world, and we've got one up for grabs!

All you need to do to win is answer, in 25 words or less:

The competition commences on Monday 20th June 2011 at 12:00pm (AEST) and all entries must be received before Monday 4th July 2011 at 12:00pm (AEST)

This one I stumbled across purely by accident while booking tickets on the Event theatre website... but looks like this one is only open to existing Optus (phone or broadband) customers. So unless you are a customer, know someone who is, or plan to be a customer before this ends on 11th July, you might as well skip reading the rest.

Optus customers who have registered to the Optus Movie Rewards site can enter a competition to win a major prize of a trip for 2 to Melbourne for 3 nights in a 4-star hotel, to do a couple of 'extreme' activities (a monster truck ride and a flight simulator), plus $250 spending money... worth $7000.
A second prize is for 11 tickets to a private screening of DotM on 18th July at either a location in Sydney or Melbourne (requires you to make your own transportation if not living there, otherwise the winner can get 11 double-passes). Prize also includes each person getting a pair of TFs headphones and webcam. Total value $2,710 (Private Screening for 11 people valued at $1500, Webcams - $45 each, Headphones - $65 each)
Then there are 20 runner up prizes of a double-pass to DotM, valued at $50 each.

It mentions that registering to the site earns you (free) entry, but also says that existing members can 'purchase' an entry by buying certain TFs items they have available (music, games, ringtones, pics, movies).

It also appears that existing customers may have even earnt free tickets to a screening of DotM on the 30th June (day after it starts).
