Default DOTM and the "ghetto" featured area of TRU

    Bah, I was wrong.

Last month I said to Gok and the others that I figure by June TRU would move DOTM over to where Cars 2 was sitting, not realising that Cars 2 (seems to have made) far more money than Transformers could ever hope in terms of merchandising, so TRU isn't gonna stop promoting the hell out of that toyline.

    Sorry guys.

I am informed that this is the case in the US as well.

I I had always assumed that that would be the case.

I really do look back on Animated as a lost line for Hasbro. I don't understand how and why they considered a move into more realistic would help their cause to sell to the cutey, younger kid market. I thought Movie and Animated as two distinct lines complemented each other very well

Cars is so much bigger than Transformers, at the sale today there only two other people going after Transformers but there where lots going after Cars 2 stuff. All my younger cousins have tons of Cars 1 toys, I'm the only one in my family that has any Transformers and they are mostly Takara TFs. Cars may not be a very good Pixar film but it sells like hotcakes.

IMO, Cars is the worst franchise Pixar have ever produced, yes, even worse than Monsters but Mattel's deal was always going to be 'Flood the shelves like Thomas the Tank Engine did'.
Cars isn't any better than Transformers at all, obviously a hell of a lot of kids these days just have a lack of an imagination beyond: "Car haz eyes n can speakz".
