Default 2nd attempt at custom repaint

My second attempt at a custom repaint. I had a go at DotM Roadbuster because I thought the figure was incredibly plain but actually had a lot of detail that wasn't really highlighted with the excessive amount of grey plastic.

I thought I'd try a few different effects as it's my first real go at this. So I have attempted battle damage on panels that don't show in alt mode, also attempted tyre wear.

Let me know what you guys think, if you have any tips I would be grateful. My next project will be DotM Voyager Megs, another figure that has a lot of potential I think but again too much grey/brown plastic. Might also have a go at the rust effect with that one.

Holy crap that looks excellent AJ!

You've really brought out a hell of a lot more detail that that ugly grey plastic hides, I especially like the underside of his Alt mode, whilst probably cleaner than what most would be, it looks so much more realistic!
In Bot mode he looks alot more like what we saw on screen in terms of the metallic palette coming through and the damage adds just the right touches.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what you achieve with DOTM Voyager Megatron, if you're able to stick with his weathered and fatigued Metal and Rust colour scheme, I think you'll have a masterpiece on your hands!

Wow, nice work! The detail is amazing, you've done a brilliant job. I want to do this to my DOTM deluxe Optimus Prime because he's just far too grey and boring, but I've never done a custom repaint before so I don't know what I'm doing. Any tips or resources?

Nice work. To date I've only pulled off 1 custom repaint, all the rest were total fails. Si if this is your second attempt I tip my hat to you.
Really brought out the detail on him.

A much improved figure! Very good!. Though personally, if it was mine, I would of left the car in its white/green paint but painted all the robot bits like you did.
