I am a bit bothered by his waist seemingly too small compare to his chest, and his upper elbow joints too small, kinda like where it should be the biceps the whole arm suddenly shrinks. Didn't even get to notice his feet. Tranformation seem to be better but I think MP-01 & 04 definitely much better proportioned in robot mode.

One more question Tober: how much real metal does he wear on and where?

Yeah, I tend to prefer MP-1's chest proportions too, but I can see why they did it to get a more accurate cab mode.

Metal, good question, I accidental edited the materials out. There's almost no diecast. His toes and heel are diecast (I think). The majority is ABS plastic. Rubber on the wheels (not Roller's), the axe is PVC, vac-formed plastic for the chrome areas.
Which brings us to where we are today...

Seriously, he looks like he's been on some extreme diet. Optimus, you're too skinny!

yeah i'm not interested in paying $300 due to terrible exchange rates, a smaller, crappier revision (imo) and well TakaraTomy's reasoning that because they've made something new - we'll pay more.

I'm still hurting from the previous disappointment in MP Rodimus. $200 for a trailer that doesn't quite fit right and all the other problems that they felt did not need proper play testing but just revisions.

so if their master plan involves releasing MP10 as black, grey, white, purple and whatever else colours Prime has been then they can go screw themselves.

    Only IF Something:

needs to be a good price, given I have 2 masterpiece primes already, and masterpiece hot rod is $60 at the moment, 250 +postage is out of the question. maybe for $100 plus postage, but no more than that. I really hope the next masterpiece is a new figure.

I do think it's very nice, well detailed and articulated but it's still 3 times too much money.

I'd like this but the price really kills it.

So it's a no to the Takara version for a lot of people, but what about when the inevitable Hasbro version (sans Trailer, but with a guy who looks like HiQ but isn't named HiQ) comes out? How many takers at the $80 - $100 price point?

I will get the Takara if I can come up with the $$$ But I would also get the Hasbro regardless.

Quick comparison of TakaraTOMY's MP10 w/ Hasbro's -- just the cab robot so far...

I can see what some people mean about TakTOM's eyes being dull compared to Hasbro's. The darker metallic blues on TakTOM's eyes seem to work better in theory than practice. But overall, TakTOM's darker colours do look much nicer. I like how TakTOM even painted the interior of the gun stowage compartment black! Cosmetic differences aside, both chest doors on my TakTOM MP10 do sit flush, whereas one of the ones on my Hasbro MP10 doesn't, especially in truck mode.

    Nice image Gok.

Hasbro has the yellow paint app on Primes 'collar bone' ... a nice touch. TakTom looks to have a darker plastic grey which looks great with the darker blue.

Well worth getting both if one can afford it.
