I for one want the comics to continue, but I believe it shouldn't be forced immediately towards Beast wars. More of flesh out more stories, coz lets face it it's thousands more of years before BW happened from G1 ( as shown by records being lost, etc. etc) so if you think about it, there's thousands more of years worth of stories before leading to BW. As such, more characters can be introduced, fleshed out, developed, killed off. it doesnt even have to lead to BW as it's a G1 comics, just as everyone has said, just hints and easter eggs that the tech to go to BW- shrinking size, diff. altmode ( no small driver allowances) less energon need, all that angolmois stuff and other alternate sources of energy. Maybe even, Nucleon can be refined so it doesn't affect the transformation - it could start with this thereby giving the AM subline a bit of glory under the sun. Then they finally succeed and it's given a new name then all those afflicted can be "cured" of not being able to transform. - this story plot alone could take, what, several issues while other issues foment within the pages. The possibilities are abundant all not leading to BW just yet. Coz, if the story is written as such that it is heading quick in that direction - it would IMOP appear rushed as such. my 2¢

My thoughts exactly Liege, I certainly don't want the story to go barrelling towards Beast Wars either; simply hints and easter eggs as you say that 'nod' to Beast Wars.
I'd very much like to see some Technology Development like you've suggested, such as:
    • Protoform Technology
    • Energy Refinement (Energon & Organic Matter Digestion Adaptation)
    • Transwarp Technology
    • Size Scaling
    • AM/Pretender Technology (Further-ment, Refinement and Combination)
    • Incorporation of Firearms with the Bot/Alt mode proper.

These mentions don't have to be whole stories or even pages; a frame, speech bubble or background scene would make me extremely happy.

Size scaling (Micromasters), Pretender like technology and firearms integration are already part of Marvel G1. Beast Pretenders for example look to be direct precursors to BW beast mode technology. Also Fangry wasn't a pretender but his alt mode had organic looking parts similar to TM2 technology.

Micromasters were made to be more energy efficient forms of Cybertronians and could also be seen as precursors to Beast Wars.

I have always said this and stand by it - There is very little in Beast Wars from a concept perspective that originated in that era. Most of the stuff you see in the cartoon down to the beast modes (which were integral in the show) were not new but more refined versions of what was already introduced in G1. Almost everything in BW has something in G1 that appears to be a conceptual precursor to it.

Perhaps, but there hasn't been any Official media/word to support this commonly accepted fanon.

I agree, but again this is just fanon and I reckon it'd be pretty cool to see this explored/mentioned to support this.

Well of course, Beast Wars is part of the Transformers franchise so it only stands to reason that it'd be the product of refined ideas from what has come before; but it is the combination of notions chosen that distinguishes Beast Wars/Machines (And to a lesser degree RiD & Animated) from the rest of the franchise; but from that point on it's been nothing but planes, trains, auto-mobiles and cyber-animals that have arguably done nothing narratively or aesthetically that G1 hadn't already.

Really, there hasn't been a series since Beast Wars that has really contributed anything to the overall mythos that isn't rehashed material, given; a lot of Beast Wars is too but it at least contributed a series of ideas to the G1 mythos that each subsequent series has leached off of, wouldn't it be nice to see some of these contributions cemented Officially rather than fanon all the time?

I'm simply asking if others would like to see some of the speculative grafts between G1 and Beast Wars explored beyond fan based theory, however great or small, in any way shape or fashion as it would seem to me like a perfect opportunity to (Short of doing a 'War Within' with Beast Wars).

P.S. I am aware as to how speculative this thread is itself mind you.

I also would like to see more Mosaic type side stories if ever a comic continuation does go green lighted. A lot of the Mosaic have good simple stories in themselves which if a good fresh ideas was to be seen in it could be explored and incorporated as canon in the Tf mythos officially rather than as Hursty termed... fanon.

I don't believe this is just 'Fanon' - You can read about much of it in the last MTMTE Dreamwave issue and that was an official publication.

Last issue of the Dreamwave continuity?, geeze, you don't want to make it easy for me do you? - I'll have to see if someone might be willing to bring a copy to the Parra Fair so we can peruse it.

IDW reprinted the More Than Meets the Eye books so they shouldn't be hard to find. I think I saw them on the weekend actually.
