Default Xtransbots X1 Glider / Air Warrior

I was unable to find a dedicated thread for this guy so I decided to make one:

Xtransbots X1 Glider / Air Warrior

I was a little apprehensive of this figure as I didn't like the somewhat 'cutesy' face sculpt but the pictures on the linked review is making the mold grow on me. I don't understand why they can't just do the original Powerglide toy face as it didn't look as 'cute' as these new toys but it could also be the lighting on the photos hiding some detail.

Anyways, as you can see in the review, this Powerglide is about deluxe size and fits well in a Classics shelf. Since he is no overly expensive at US$39.95 (specially with the high AU$) I may consider getting him.

There are too many 3rd party things coming out that poor hursti gets tired from making all the threads/uploading pics :P

personally it still needs refining and so at the moment doesn't interest me. their next project Tyrant (Galvatron) is more interesting though.

Looks decent. Especially since it does look like it fits in well with the rest of the classics figs. After reading this thread, I got interested to the point of almost wanting to click to buy it.

However, I had read about this last week.

Not too sure now. I might wait for more reviews..and if that turns out to confirm bad quality- then ill wait for the supposed diecast version by Super Alloy.

Have a look at the artwork for the "Wildchild Explorer" white repaint of Powerglide. Do you think its just art, or does it reflect their intentions
to make all of the mini-bot line?

On the lookout for MISB Headmaster Highbrow, Takara or Hasbro. I'm sure I could make you a sweet deal!

I've had my eye on that toy, same company as that Wheelie toy that was posted a few weeks ago. So probably should ask owners of that toy for details on quality.

    I can't decide so far.

    For me....

    Pros
    Good Size toy
    Decent looking transformation
Turns into a made up glider and not an A10 (I'm so sick of Powerglide techspecs that say he is poorly armed and armoured when he turns into an A10).
    Diecast

    Cons
Simplistic looking, compared to most generations toys
Unknown company, effectively a KO of a garage mold.
    Overly toonish face
    Diecast

    I'm glad someone noticed.

Honestly, I agree; there is just way too much coming up/out now to really keep up with, which is why I've been selecting things on a 'what impresses me' approach.
This doesn't impress me at all, much like the other Minibot 3rd party stuff that has been shown of late; they're just the G1 figures with ball joints and other assorted articulation being added, hardly impressive IMO.

Looks like they're going for cartoon likeness -- the face does look quite like the cartoon model, although the eyes are more rounded (he looks like he's in perpetual shock )
