Transformers Venting thread!

Got home yesterday evening to find out my copy of the Transformers Legacy book was sent to a neighbour's house a few blocks down the road. She handed the opened box to my wife. And politely admitted her kids had gone through the book. You can see dirty food stains on some of the pages. It's book rape I tell you. Managed to remove most of the food stain but tore two of the pages that were stuck together.

no way! That's unbelievable how someone could think that that would be okay... did the neighbours at least try and provide compensation for the state of the book?

It probably also explains why I've been waiting for over a month for this parcel. * sad face *

was it addressed incorectly or just a mistake, if it was just a mistake, why was the packaged opened in the first instance, and secondly if opened you would of realised straight away it wasnt something belonging to you so why let kids touch it.

i am pretty sure there is an avenue for a damages claim through auspost there. they afterall delivered it to the incorrect address..

i often wonder if my missing parcels were delivered to the incorrect address and they just cant be bothered to pass it on

Correct name and address by Amazon. I wasn't there to hear the conversation but wifey mentioned that the neighbour opened the parcel without checking.

I don't even know if auspost or another carrier delivered to the wrong address. Don't feel like playing detective. I'm just gonna curl back into the fetal position.

For such a masterpiece of a book, that's a travesty. I would ask (then tell if they refuse) the neighbours to buy a replacement, due to its value (regardless of its subject matter - this is a book that you will keep for many years, and you don't need it spoilt by the visual reminders of what their brats did). Say it was a birthday present, to see if you can get sympathy from the negligent/irresponsible act, and ask her what she would expect if you opened up one of her birthday presents and damaged/destroyed it? Ask her how violated would she feel if she was forced to re-buy her own birthday present?

If they still refuse to replace an item that they had no legal right to open (make sure the mother understands that), then approach Australia Post.
If it was an Amazon sale, it should have tracking, and Australia Post should have someone's signature that isn't yours. They should be responsible for "failed delivery".

That's hideous. Once you're up to it, you should complain to the post office and Amazon to seek a replacement.

I got off easy with a s few small dings on the spine of mine (poorly packed by amazon and poorly handled by parcel handlers/flingers).
Mate I feel for ya. I would of felt sick to the stomach too if I had received mine in the condition you describe. Yeah I'd be telling Amazon you didn't receive it and let them investigate.

Why wouldn't people check the address on a package, especially one that size? And wouldn't you also question why theres's a big book of TF.delivered to you before letting your kids manhandle it?

Order a cheap set of knives and leave the package on the neighbour's doorstep. Kids'll have fun with them.
